Hello everyone! Nice to meet you 😊 This is the first event I’m hosting on Meetup.com, but we’ve already had four small coffee chats, so this will be our fifth meetup for Korean learners. This time, I’m trying something a little different, a combination of a study group and a dinner gathering. For this event, first-time attendees will be joining the dinner table, and as you become a regular, you’ll also be able to join the study group sessions. The location is still TBD and will be announced soon. **It’s free to join, but everyone will pay for their own food or drinks.** *** **\*\* What is “식구 (食口)”?** “식구 (Sigoo)” means “family” in Korean. It literally comes from Chinese characters meaning “people who share meals together.” You can see how important sharing a meal is in Korean culture. As this will be Rinka’s final TJEX Meetup, anyone who has attended at least one TJEX event and would like to express their gratitude or send their best wishes to Rinka is welcome to join.
