Is the Design Process Really "Dead"? | Product Management Society x Miro Meetups
Is the Design Process Really "Dead"? | Product Management Society x Miro Meetups
***🔗 Link to registration: [https://luma.com/s8mfiusl](https://luma.com/s8mfiusl)*** We’re excited to invite you to a special edition of our next meetup - for the first time ever, Product Management Society Berlin is teaming up with Miro 🤝 This session will explore a timely topic: the future of the design process in an era of rapidly increasing production speed. While some chief designers at major companies have declared the design process “dead” or no longer fit for today’s pace, others strongly disagree. What changes when prototypes can be created in minutes? What are the limits? What remains essential? In the first part, we’ll open the floor to different perspectives from across the room. In the second part, we’ll work together to explore and shape ideas for a more resilient design process. Whether you're a PM, designer, or simply curious, you’re very welcome to join the discussion and contribute your ideas. 👉 Spots are limited - register on Luma using the link above ^ Looking forward to seeing you there!

The TMOD also introduces the key roles and functionaries for that session. **Prepared Speeches:** A significant portion of the meeting is dedicated to prepared speeches. Members working through various projects in the Toastmasters education program deliver speeches based on their chosen projects. Each speech is evaluated by a designated evaluator who provides feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. **Table Topics:** Table Topics is a segment where impromptu speaking skills are tested. The Table Topics Master presents a series of short, unprepared speaking challenges or questions, and members or guests are invited to come to the podium and give a brief, improvised response. **Evaluations:** Following the prepared speeches and Table Topics segment, evaluators provide constructive feedback to speakers. These evaluations focus on content, delivery, body language, and time management. The goal is to help speakers improve their speaking skills. **Reports and Functionary Roles:** The meeting may include various functionary roles, such as the Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, and others, who report on their observations and contributions to the session. These roles help members improve their language and time management skills. **General Evaluator:** The General Evaluator provides an overall assessment of the meeting, highlighting what went well and offering suggestions for improvement. They may also evaluate the evaluators' performance. **Awards and Recognitions:** Toastmasters sessions often conclude with awards and recognitions, including the Best Speaker, Best Evaluator, and Best Table Topics Speaker. These awards encourage members to strive for excellence in their speaking and leadership abilities. **Closing:** The meeting concludes with closing remarks from the Toastmaster of the Day, who may express gratitude to participants and encourage them to continue their Toastmasters journey. **Networking and Socialising:** After the formal meeting, members and guests often have the opportunity to network, socialise, and discuss their experiences in a more relaxed setting. #31 AI Series: HuggingFace - N. Tazi
#31 AI Series: HuggingFace - N. Tazi
We're back and excited to feature **Nouamane Tazi**, who is currently a Research Engineer at **HuggingFace** and will discuss "**Scaling LLM Training to Thousands of GPUs**", lasting approximately 45 minutes. After the talk, seize the opportunity to connect with fellow AI enthusiasts to share ideas and questions while enjoying free drinks and pizza. **Door close by 7.15pm, so please come early! Also, "attend"ing (RSVP) here on Meetup is strictly necessary to be guaranteed entry.** Please note that Meetup has recently been quite keen on promoting its Plus program. However, you are not obligated to purchase it, as both our events and the platform remain free. **Who is this event for?** This event is open to everyone interested in state-of-the-art AI research. We especially design it for students, PhD candidates, academic researchers, and industry professionals with a research focus in machine learning. **Abstract**: Training large language models at scale introduces a cascade of systems bottlenecks absent at smaller scales: from communication overhead and memory fragmentation to subtle numerical instabilities that surface only across thousands of devices. This talk covers the practical design choices behind scaling LLM training to thousands of GPUs: what parallelism strategies work (and when they break), how to keep training runs efficient and stable, and the engineering trade-offs that shape modern pretraining infrastructure. The presentation aims to be accessible to a broad ML audience, drawing on real-world experience from large-scale open-source training runs at Hugging Face. **Bio**: Nouamane Tazi is a Machine Learning Research Engineer at Hugging Face, specializing in training and scaling large language models. He is a co-author of SmolLM3 and The Ultra Scale Playbook, and his research spans NLP, deep learning, and scalable AI infrastructure. We are [BLISS](https://bliss.berlin/) e.V., the **AI** **organization** in Berlin that **connects like-minded individuals** who share great interest and passion for the field of machine learning. This summer 2026, we will, again, host an exciting speaker series on site in Berlin, featuring excellent researchers from cohere, ETH Zürich, University of Oxford, HuggingFace, and Stanford University. Abstract We ran everything in one Azure subscription. Leads and sales, installations and steering energy systems. Everyone had access. Most resources were created manually. It was unclear who owned what. As the tech org grew from 100 to 300 people, reinventing security and scaling individually stopped working. We'll cover how we approached platform building as gardeners rather than architects: observing what already works, replicating it, and letting rituals emerge before encoding them. We'll look at some mistakes we made along the way and what we learned from each. *Dayana Mick* **It works… but no one understands it: The hidden problem in DevOps** For several years, I kept asking the same question to senior developers, staff engineers, and mentors: “What is a build?” I rarely got a clear answer. Not because people didn’t know, but because the mental model had faded somewhere between Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and “just run this command.” At some point, I realized I could run pipelines, deploy services, and fix things just enough to move forward, but explaining what was actually happening was much harder. And I was not the only one. This talk is about a pattern I’ve seen across every company I’ve worked at. Systems that work, but are not really understood. Teams running platform commands from memory. Platform teams becoming bottlenecks. Incidents where even experienced engineers hesitate. And situations where people rely on tools without a clear sense of what is actually happening underneath. With AI, this is only accelerating. This is a talk for anyone who has ever copy-pasted a command, watched it work, and decided not to ask further questions. It is especially relevant for junior and mid-level engineers navigating DevOps complexity, and for teams who are trying to scale tooling without losing shared understanding.

Season Start: Shuffleboard + Cornhole Neukölln
Season Start: Shuffleboard + Cornhole Neukölln
Start of the season, y'all!!! First season will be games of **shuffleboard** and **cornhole**. The season is six weeks long. We will meet once a week to play, socialize and have fun. If you never played, that's no problem at all. These are easy to learn games for everyone. Check out our website or instagram to learn more: [https://www.playhousesocialclub.com](https://www.playhousesocialclub.com) [https://www.instagram.com/playhousesocialclub](https://www.instagram.com/playhousesocialclub) **What to expect:** Expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, easygoing games, and a great chance to meet new people in Berlin. This is the very first season of ***Playhouse Social Club***, and we are excited to kick things off soon. Our events are designed to be social first, so you do not need to be an expert or bring a team. We usually start with a short welcome, explain the game rules, mix people into pairs or groups if needed, and then get into the games. **What to bring:** Just bring yourself, comfortable clothes, and good energy. No special equipment is needed. **Important:** As this is our first season, spots are limited and we ask everyone to sign up in advance before the season begins. Right now we have an early bird promotion on [https://www.playhousesocialclub.com/](https://www.playhousesocialclub.com/) **How to find us:** We work with two locations, one in **Mitte** and one in **Neukölln**. You can register for either one. You will get an e-mail with all details once you sign up on our website. When you arrive, look out for the Playhouse Social Club group or ask the staff where to find us. Arriving a little early is always a good idea. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Embodied Consent
Embodied Consent
🔵 **Embodied Consent** with **Kuem** for **LGBTIQA+** Free **[Registration Required](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/embodied-consent/w17-2026-2/)** **Learning about boundaries and communication**. If you have not yet attended a workshop on Consent in the Village, now is the time! This workshop is highly recommended for anyone wishing to visit our project on a regular basis, or to attend one of our workshops. This experience will not only help you navigate within the we.are.village community, but it will also equip you to carry these values into your life. Being aware of your boundaries and expressing your consent or non-consent are essential skills in life, but we don’t often get a chance to actually practice consent skills in the same way we practice other skills, like singing, playing sports or learning a language. Consent is about much more than a simple yes or no. When we deconstruct consent, we discover how to communicate our true desires and stop choosing the things we actually don’t want. Through discussion, movement and partner games, we will build tools to express and negotiate physical desires and set boundaries through the use of practical exercises. This workshop is inclusive and welcoming to individuals of all body sizes, genders, and background. This is a non-sexual workshop, and great, low pressure situation in which to practice communication and touching. It’s as much about how to truly say yes and mean it as it is about saying no! If you have not yet attended a workshop on Consent in the Village, now is the time! This experience will not only help you navigate within the we are village community, but it will also equip you to carry these values into your life. Together, we aim to nurture a consent-centered community with shared values, emphasizing individual responsibility in upholding these principles. Our ultimate goal is to foster healthy relationships and create an inclusive community for a better, more connected future.

Open Reflection Women's Circle
Open Reflection Women's Circle
**Open Reflection Circle** is a small and intimate women’s gathering in Berlin, where we come together in a cozy café to share, reflect, and connect with one another. In this circle, a small group of around **8–10 women** gathers to spend time in meaningful conversation and reflection. We begin by introducing ourselves and gently creating a space where everyone feels comfortable and welcomed. Through guided reflection prompts, we explore our journeys, our emotions, and the experiences that shape our lives. These prompts are designed to help you open up and reflect more deeply on your thoughts, your dreams, and the challenges you may be navigating. We also include a few light and playful exercises to break the ice and help everyone feel relaxed and connected. The intention is not to create pressure to share, but to create an environment where sharing feels natural and safe. The heart behind the **Open Reflection Circle** is simple: to bring together women who can hold space for each other and remind one another that we are not alone in our journeys. This is a space where we can talk honestly about our lives — our visions, our goals, what we are building, and what sometimes holds us back from taking action. We reflect together on questions such as: Where do we want to go in life? What are we dreaming of creating? What challenges are we facing in our emotional wellbeing or personal growth? By listening to one another’s stories and perspectives, we often discover insights that we might not have seen on our own. You are encouraged to bring a **notebook and pen**, as many women like to take notes from reflections, ideas, and inspiration that arise during the conversation. Toward the end of the gathering, we close with a small and meaningful practice: exchanging short **love letters of gratitude** with each other. These simple messages help us acknowledge the presence of the women in the circle and leave the space with a feeling of appreciation, connection, and warmth. The intention of this circle is not advice or fixing each other’s problems. It is simply to **listen, reflect, learn from one another, and hold space for the beautiful complexity of each woman’s journey.**

Transformatives Schreiben für Frauen
Transformatives Schreiben für Frauen
"Wer bin ich und wer bin ich mit dir? Wer bist du und was sehe ich in dir? Was könnte aus uns werden?" Ein empathischer Dialog. Grenzen wahrnehmen. Das Unbekannte erforschen. Alternative "Ich's" ausprobieren.

The Story So Far: A WiA Reflection Circle
The Story So Far: A WiA Reflection Circle
A WiA Collective Wisdom Exchange At the start of this year, we gathered to look back, set intentions, and imagine the next chapter. This is the follow-up. Not a check-in. Not a progress report. A small, facilitated circle to reconnect with what you said mattered — and honestly explore what’s actually happening now. Together, we’ll explore: • What you intended at the start of this year - and what that looks like three months in • What’s surprised you, supported you, or shifted • What the next chapter needs now that you know what you know If you were at our January gathering, bring whatever you made or wrote — your word, your artifact, your intention. We’ll look at it with fresh eyes. If this is your first time, you belong here too. You’ll start where we all started: with what’s true right now. Optional art materials will be available for anyone who wants to reflect creatively alongside conversation. If you brought something home from January, you’re warmly invited to bring it back. The intention is the same as always: everyone leaves feeling more clear, more connected, and a little lighter. Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate. What to Expect • A small, welcoming circle (not a large meetup) • Structured conversation so everyone has space to speak • Reflection, listening, and lived experience — not advice-giving • Optional creative reflection alongside conversation • A calm, supportive environment Who This Is For Women and underrepresented folks working in or around agile, product, technology, leadership, or organizational change — especially those looking for honest conversation and community beyond frameworks and buzzwords. Good to Know • No preparation required • If you attended in January, we invite you to bring anything you created or wrote (or something that represents your intention at the start of the year) - it’s optional but invited • Participation is invitational; listening is always welcome • Creative activities are optional
Summer Social: Let's kick off summer with Adult field day at Shadybowl!
Summer Social: Let's kick off summer with Adult field day at Shadybowl!
We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning. It’s meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up. If you stick around after, we’ll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening. Bring: * Something to share for the potluck * Clothes you can move around in A small contribution helps keep events sustainable and ensures those who RSVP actually show up. Include your Meetup name + event name in the note. Please send $2 per person to guarantee your spot. Venmo (preferred) or PayPal @WiseUnlimitedLLC Actual links in comments below! Men's Group meetup
Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.** How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently? Then we will go into a topic discussion. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS** \*\*THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR NO-SHOWS. IF YOU RSVP TO A MEETING AND FAIL TO SHOW UP WITHOUT NOTICE, YOU'LL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP. THIS IS TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE GROUP\*\* 1. Confidentiality - EVERYTHING that is shared NEVER leaves this space so that this space remains safe and sacred. There is a zero tolerance policy for this. If a man is in violation of this, they will be permanently removed from the group. 2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every man’s truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every man’s perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another. 3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up. 4. Speak from the heart - this is NOT a space to “look good”, have the “right” answers, and have it all together. Relax and know you are not alone. Be exactly who you are within the safety of this space. 5. Be supportive - This means always willing to provide encouragement to your fellow men, encourage action and momentum in each other’s lives.. Be willing to challenge each other. Be willing to hold each other accountable. 6. Participation - what you receive from this community will be a reflection of what you put into it. Period. We ask that you share your perspectives, reflect on others, and give/receive support when and where it’s needed.
