Irány Hűvösvölgy! The weather finally seems to be on our side, so we’re excited to organise our long-awaited Kerek Perec hike! 🌿 We’ll meet at the last stop of tram 56/61 on Sunday and take a relaxed circular walk in the Buda hills. Although the event is three hours long we won’t be hiking the entire time; we’ve prepared lots of games and activities so we’ll be taking frequent breaks to practise Hungarian. Along the way, you’ll pick up useful vocabulary related to nature and hiking, hear about a couple of famous Hungarian hikers, and work together in different group competitions. You’re very welcome to join regardless of your Hungarian (and fitness) level — we’ll have activities adapted for beginners (A1), elementary (A2), and intermediate (B1) learners. We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning. It’s meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up. If you stick around after, we’ll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening.
