The D&D Adventurers League is an ongoing official organized play campaign for Dungeons & Dragons. It uses the fifth edition of the Dungeons & Dragons rules, and features the Forgotten Realms setting. You can play D&D Adventurers League games at any place that features adventures bearing the D&D Adventurers League logo. We will be hosting board game night at Face to face games, see location below. I will be bring a number of games from my collection and anyone is welcome to bring any game they would like to play as well, we normally decide at the event what to play and will split into to groups. normally there is a heavy game going and a couple lighter ones. I'm usually there early around 4:30PM, but we don't usually start anything large until 6pm. If your coming a bit later no worries there are plenty of shorter games running as well. We will teach you character creation and core game mechanics on as well as run a short 45 minute - 1 hour campaign to play your new characters. These sessions are meant to be **introductory friendly for new adventurers to get their foot in the door of D&D.** We do offer a full 3-4 hour Obojima session separately for those who have already participated in the learn to play or players that already know the mechanics of D&D 5th edition if you are interested! **Please ensure you are available for your chosen date before you purchase your ticket.** Every **month** will be a **new** adventure from Obojima Tales from the Tall Grass book! With your ticket you'll receive: * Character sheet * Pencil * Set of 7 dice (D4, D6, D8, D10, D12, D20, D%) * Access to the Players Handbook **Game Master:** Nick (He/Him) Nick, has been a Dungeon Master for 10 years, experienced in many mainstream and indie RPG systems. Outside of RPGs, Nick has several years of theatre experience, being an actor in his youth and continuing his studies even now. He is upbeat and theatrical, standing and acting out dramatic action sequences and quiet emotional scenes. More than anything, Nick always tries his best to deliver an experience, something that will be a special memory for everyone. **What is 5th Edition and how does it differ from 5.5 Edition?** Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition is an older version that was released in 2017 where 5.5 is the most current edition (released in 2024) with some changes to game mechanics. Most third party campaigns are made for 5th edition mechanics. So if you would like to play any D&D campaigns prior to 2024 (the majority of them) 5th edition would be your go-to! If you are interested in the 5.5 Edition we have a Dragon Delves learn-to-play series available as well. Due to the limited spaces available for this event, we will not be issuing refunds for this event **less than 48 hours before the event**. Be sure to purchase the ticket for the correct date.

Packaged memberships are also available.** Entering our 10th year, this group has been running weekly events intended for Dad's who are also board game enthusiasts. Please see our photo gallery for a sample of the games we play. We do not typically table mass market games (Chess, Clue, Monopoly etc.) We often table a variety of games, new and old, to keep things fresh. It is not required that you bring any games yourself, although it is appreciated if you do. In that case, please be prepared to teach whichever games you bring. Please do your best to support our venue LVLUP Games. Consider buying all your board games and accessories there. The focus for each event is to have fun so please adhere to our event etiquette (Jan 2026): 1. Please show up on time (we usually start the non-filler games right when the event starts). 2. We’re meeting up to finally stop talking about it and just power through our designs together. Whether you’re sketching out your first ideas or deep in the "crunch" of building your gear, come hang out and get it done. We'll be trading tips and making progress, one cup of coffee and one hot glue burn at a time. We will be meeting in the quiet area of the Scarborough Civic Centre Library.

**BACKGROUND** Whether you are an author, game master, or artist, sometimes, we can get stuck on ideas and rough concepts before fully forming our creations. This is the opportunity to brainstorm these with others. **DETAILS** You can bring in your ideas - including world-building, character details, plot arcs, magic systems, technology, etc. - and brainstorm places where you are stuck. Each participant will be given time to workshop their ideas in a free-form manner, as they see fit. It is not mandatory to bring something to discuss; you can also help others brainstorm and meet like-minded people. Have a completed manuscript and ready to take the next step? Need to polish up your submission materials? Curious about the submission process for trad publishing? Then you'll want to join our query letter and synopsis workshop. The meeting will run the same way as our usualy Saturday in-person meetups, but we'll be reviewing query letters and synopses instead of actual stories. Feel free to bring in a query letter, a synopsis, or both. Not sure what any of this means? In trad publishing, with few exceptions, publishers don't accept unsolicited manuscripts (which means you can't submit to them without an agent). But before an agent will even read your full manuscript, they usually ask that you send a query letter, possibly along with a synopsis and sample pages. A query letter is basically a one-page pitch for your book, providing all the relevant stats (genre, age category, word count), a brief summary of the premise meant to entice them into reading more, and a bio. They can range anywhere from one page to a few pages (usually on the shorter side), depending on the agent. **It's ALIVE!** This interactive workshop invites writers to **step away from the page** and into a **hands-on creative process** using playdough to design original monsters, aliens, or creatures. Participants will **sculpt their own creations**, then collaborate with others by responding to and building on each other’s designs. The workshop also includes **writing a brief history or micro-short story for each creation** to flesh out its personality, culture, and purpose. By creating characters in a **visual and tactile medium**, writers can unlock new ideas, deepen believability, and discover details they might not find through writing alone. **Suggested donation of $5 to cover the cost of workshop supplies**
