Join us for Taste of the Forest: Chopped Mushroom Challenge! Get ready for a night where culinary creativity meets full-on competition.
Two incredible chefs - Chase and Shaun - will compete head-to-head in a high-energy, mushroom-focused Chopped-style challenge, at Mushroom Mountain.
Each chef will craft five unique courses, featuring some of the forest’s most prized mushrooms:
Lion’s Mane, Black Trumpet, Maitake, Lobster, and Chanterelles.
Every dish will highlight mushrooms in bold, unexpected ways - pushing flavor, texture, and creativity to the edge.
This is a sit-down dining experience, but with a twist:
👉 You’re not just a guest - you’re a judge.
After each course, you’ll help decide who takes the crown.
Expect a dynamic menu that may include one or two meat courses (this is not a vegetarian dinner), but mushrooms will be the star of every plate.

I have a booth at Arts After Dark, a market for artists, that takes place once a month during Downtown Alive. The band will be The Grateful Brothers, specializing in the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers. This is a mix and mingle event, but we can meet at Booth 3. Many are on multiple medications, and most feel significantly better--and quite a few cured of insomnia, anxiety, and depression--once they consistently practice rest practices (like sound healing and yoga nidra). You can be busy, and even occasional stress is okay and quite normal, but you must balance it with rest and relaxation--otherwise, it's a recipe for burnout."

Join us for a great view of the sunset over the mountains! Bring something, or nothing, but you will want to take pictures! This condo is currently unfurnished, so you can bring a folding chair. If you arrive early, there is free live music on NOMA Square across the street for Downtown Alive. The sunset viewing will be postponed to July 30th if Downtown Alive has been cancelled because of rain. Others not on this Meetup will also be attending. I hope to see you there!
