Sobre nosotros
Hike Oxfordshire is part of the Ramblers and is aimed at young walkers in their 20's, 30's, and 40's but anyone is welcome regardless of their age.
https://hikeoxfordshire.org/
You are able to attend 3 walks for free after which you will need to join the Ramblers. Ramblers membership will allow you to continue walking with us or any other Ramblers groups.
Membership is only £45 a year and you can join here:
https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership
We are a group who enjoy walking and socialising. Almost all of our walks end at the pub and we also organise regular monthly socials in Oxford and surrounding towns - we go for meals and pub trips as well as things like comedy, cycle tours and the theatre.
Please note the following:
There maybe a number of Ramblers members joining the group who are not shown on the Meetup RSVP list.
The group is normally easy to find by looking for a group in walking kit. Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before the start of the walk and if you are having trouble finding the group please contact the walk leader.
The organiser identified on Meetup may be different from the actual walk leader. Please see the description of the walk for their name and contact details.
In terms of what you need to bring:
- A packed lunch (unless the walk description says otherwise)
- Water
- Suitable clothing according to the weather conditions that day
- We advise walking shoes or boots
- Waterproof coats and trousers as you may well get wet and muddy.

NEW DATE: Barford St Michael to Nether Worton Circular Walk (9 Miles)
Barford St Micahel, Lower St, Barford St Michael, Banbury OX15 0RH, Barford St Michael, GBImmerse yourself in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, gentle hills, and great company on a rewarding circular walk that’s sure to be a highlight of your week. Our route begins and ends in the charming village of Barford St Michael, known for its honey-coloured stone cottages, historic church, and peaceful rural setting.
We’ll set off east out of the village along quiet field paths, gradually climbing through open farmland. As we gain height, the views begin to open up across rolling countryside and tranquil valleys. After crossing the B4031 (road to Hempton), we descend gently into the picturesque Worton valley, making our way toward Over Worton, which marks the halfway point of the walk.
Continuing on, we pass through the peaceful hamlet of Nether Worton, surrounded by open fields and woodland. From here, the route climbs steadily up past Raven Hill, rewarding us with lovely views across the surrounding landscape, before we cross back over the B4031.
We then head towards the attractive village of South Newington, with its characterful cottages and historic church, before turning east along well-trodden paths that guide us back toward Barford, completing the circular route.
To round off the day, we’ll gather at the welcoming The George Inn — the perfect place to relax, swap stories from the walk, and enjoy a well-earned drink together. Whether it’s a pint of local ale, a glass of wine, or something refreshing, it’s an ideal setting to unwind and soak up the friendly village atmosphere.
This walk is a wonderful way to explore some of Oxfordshire’s quieter countryside, discover hidden villages, and enjoy a day of fresh air, scenery, and good company.
We look forward to sharing this beautiful journey with you!
