In the last days of the Second World War, Maciek, a Polish resistance fighter, is tasked with the assassination of a Communist official. But when he meets Krystyna, he is offered a glimpse of a world beyond war and destruction, and questions his assignment.

Polish auteur Andrei Wajda’s classic drama, which cemented his position as a world-class filmmaker, features an iconic central performance by Zbigniew Cybulski – the ‘Polish James Dean’ – who contributes immeasurably to this probing look at the complex post-war future for a new nation and its people.

IndieFlicks returns, offering the perfect balance of a social night out and blended with top drawer, festival quality short films from around the world!

Our night now runs on the first Sunday of the month at the MiniCine, found within the incredible Ducie Street Warehouse, Manchester.

You can expect a wonderfully varied selection of short films, of which you vote for your favourite on the night. Have your questions asked by programmed filmmakers or our special guests*, all the while enjoying a wide selection of food & drinks from the bar.

Then to round off, we will share our Director's Choice, a slightly longer short, selected by our judging panel.

Tickets are only available online through our website, so please do not turn up without booking first.
