De qué se trata
The NY Drone User Group, part of The Drone Group, is an organization for Beginner as well as Expert Drone users that seek to promote the responsible use of a UAV* / sUAS* for community service, artistic, recreational and commercial purposes.
We will be flying regularly (most weekends, weather and TFRs permitting) and also have a monthly online (joint with NJ Dug) on the 2nd Thursday of every month. Join us from the comfort of home or your favorite spot.
We are part of The Drone Group in NY, NJ, and PA.
We work to educate ourselves about how to use and build Drones in a safe and respectful manner, and to educate the public about the positive role aerial robotics can play in our society.
* UAV = Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle .. sUAS = small Uncrewed Aircraft System

Fly-In at Etra
Etra Lake Park, 27 Disbrow Hill Rd, East Windsor, nj, USIf you need a ride, let Nick know by Friday....
You're not going to find locations like this in a city, so you have to travel to find great legal places to fly....
Flying around this great Park's trees, lake. and playing fields, all make for some fantastic views, and a really large area field gives us plenty of space to fly (see our white canopy in the picture above)....
FPV mini-quads and planes okay if either of the two fields are low on general public, and I'll set up some gates for you to have some fun practicing, but you have to ask ahead of time so I can get them out of storage....

Fly-In at our mini-Airstrip
Hamilton Recreation Field, 2382 Kuser Rd, Hamilton Township, nj, USOur Mini Airstrip with north and east/west runways in a T shape can be used for Drones or Planes. There's plenty of space around to fly over and out towards the lake......

The Drone Group online
New York, NY, USOn our monthly online meetings, you connect from home (or your favorite spot) and watch the fun, talk to other members or guests, get news updates, see some videos from our database, show some of your own videos and photos (or send me a link to your favorite YouTube video and, 'if appropriate' 😉 I'll show it) and generally have a great time.....

I've scheduled this as a two hour event that you can join at any time as long as you have RSVPed to 'Attend' before the event starts (let me know if you're joining us late). We also keep going as long as there are interested active members online, which is often the case...

^ Meetup charges Organizers over $18 per month (it's not free like it is to members) and Zoom $15 per month.- We do it this way, to avoid getting destructive meeting crashers.
