San Diego Dog Meetup - #PackWalk

This is a more advanced dirt trail with steeper paths and gorgeous views of Lake Poway. We will hike out and back for about an hour, depending on daylight remaining.

Free parking is available on weekdays in the Lake Poway parking lot. When you enter the main Lake Poway entrance, follow main driveway all the way to the end. Road curves to the right and then to the left up the hill. We will meet next to the restrooms at the end of this road. NOTE: there’s another restroom located in the grass area, we’re meeting at restroom just next to the trailhead. SEE PHOTO.

We have grown an amazing and supportive community. To keep everyone safe and promote a calm environment, by attending our walks you are expected to follow & respect our rules:

1. All dogs must remain on leash at all times, handlers must maintain a 3 foot lead. NO retractable or bungee leashes permitted.

2. NO greeting dogs inside or outside our pack until the walk is over, with permission. Please always keep dogs on leash. We know some dogs are friends, but use this time to practice following structured socialization.

3. Maintain at least a 6 foot distance to prevent nose-to-nose/tail interactions. If your dog is a beginner or reactive, we recommend taking more space if needed, by walking at the back of the pack.

4. Come prepared and advocate for your dog. Bring adequate water, poop bags, treats, etc. Monitor your dog and always do what’s best for them. If your dog is slowing down, consider stopping early. If your dog is panting, request a break to give them some water.

Our Community Pack Leaders will be leading the walk and can answer any questions that come up. We are looking forward to meeting you and your pup!

Our group classes are designed for students of Take the Leed and our partners.

Each session is packed with creative drills in a controlled environment, aimed at strengthening our students’ critical thinking.

This class is open to dogs of all temperaments, but it’s especially designed to benefit “recovering reactives.” Together, we reinforce important foundations like recall, stay (“place”), leash walking manners, and more. Using balanced training techniques—leashes or prongs/E-collars for higher-drive students—we guide our dogs to reach the next level together.

If your dog is new to this style of training, take it at your own pace! Your trainer will provide modification suggestions tailored to your dog’s needs.

This one-hour session includes great tips, skills on reading behavior, and how to adapt to your dog and changing environments. We’ll begin with easy drills and will slowly challenge the dogs as they warm up!

Sip free local wine, shop local makers, meet adoptable puppies, and get an inside look at what we do—plus live demos, kitchen tours, a dog treat raw bar, raffles, and more.

Here’s what the day looks like:

• 11:00 AM – Registration opens
• 11:15 AM – Kitchen Tour
• 11:30 AM – Canine Fitness Demo with Malory (20 mins)
• 12:30 PM – Canine Osteopathy Demo with Jessica (20 mins)
• 1:00 PM – Kitchen Tour
• 1:30 PM – Scent Work Demo with Mike from Global Conservation Force
• 2:00 PM – Event wraps

Entrance: Donation-based — no required entry fee. A portion of proceeds will be donated to The Animal Pad, a San Diego-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
They’ll also be joining us with adoptable puppies for a “Puppy Party,” so you can meet, cuddle, and maybe even find your new best friend.

We’ll have raffle tickets available for purchase for a chance to win some amazing prizes.

This event is family-friendly, and all are welcome.

Before you arrive:

• Dogs must be on a non-retractable leash
• No outside food or drinks (including dog treats—we’ve got you covered!)

If you’ve ever joined one of our pack walks, this is your chance to experience the small business behind it all. Come support local, discover incredible vendors, and enjoy a fun, feel-good afternoon with your pup.

One of the most beautiful parks in San Diego, we will wind through the fountains, giant chess set, botanical garden, and up to the hidden mural under the Via Alta overpass. About 1.75 miles.

Park in the lot or find street parking and meet us on the grass by the flagpole.
