The San Diego Brain Club is now operating for its 16th year! We are AN IN PERSON GROUP--meeting in person to have the experience of social connection and all of the benefits to us and our brains. The Brain Club is an exciting group of curious individuals aimed at those people who have a brain, and want to learn how to use it well. We hope to appeal to those who share an interest in personal development, how they think, react to stress and grow their mental abilities.

The Shadow Brain

The shadow self, a Jungian concept, represents the unconscious, repressed, and disowned aspects of the personality—including primal instincts, shame, and undesirable traits. Neurologically, this involves the "adaptive unconscious," where the brain stores habitual, emotional responses that operate outside conscious awareness within milliseconds.
