On Friday nights Specs holds a cocktail pop up in the cafe from 6-9 with 15-20 classic cocktails to choose from + their whole Coffee Tea and Non-alcoholic menu from the cafe is available. There will either be a DJ or music playing.

I will post where I am or what I'm wearing in the comments so you can find me. I'm hard to miss.

There is a parking garage by Waterworks if you can't find street parking.

Every Thursday evening from May 29th to September 4th you can listen to live music from local artists and enjoy local foods in our beautiful, historic Bay Park.

Let's meetup for some relaxing time at the Saint Albans Bay Park. They usually have food you can buy or pack a picnic dinner. 14th Star Brewery and Mill River Brewery are usually onsite as well.

Bring a folding chair or blanket, some vendors may only accept cash. There are picnic tables as well, I just wouldn't count on them.

June book club! This month we are reading James by Percival Everett.

When the enslaved Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he decides to hide on nearby Jackson Island until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck Finn has faked his own death to escape his violent father, recently returned to town. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and too-often-unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond.

While many narrative set pieces of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn remain in place (floods and storms, stumbling across both unexpected death and unexpected treasure in the myriad stopping points along the river’s banks, encountering the scam artists posing as the Duke and Dauphin…), Jim’s agency, intelligence and compassion are shown in a radically new light.
