    Abstract
Microservices are the 'new' architecture that everyone is talking about. When they first hear of microservices, most people think that they're "simple". Like an iceberg, there is more to microservices than is initially visible.

This session will start by introducing the fundamental architectural concepts of microservices. To begin, we will go over isolation and encapsulation. That will be followed with a discussion on standards and communications. Once building microservices many teams will see infrastructure and growth related pains. We will discuss how to prepare for these inevitable problems.

The session will finish with a discussion of the specific technical issues that microservice architectures face. Service discovery, microservice-to-microservice communication and information stitching among others.

At the end of the evening you will be able to identify and describe the key features of a microservice architecture. You'll also be able to pro-actively note technical and organizational problems that can prevent microservice based systems from being completely successful.
