- Exclusive Member's Only "Gold Country", Limited RideIndian Motorcycle of Orange County, Westminster, CA
MEMBER ONLY EVENT - October 9th, 2025
Gold Country Ride
Join the Orange County Indian Motorcycle Rider's Group this fall for an exhilarating ride in the Sierra Nevada foothills. See the mountain vistas, pristine lakes, and historic Gold Rush sites all dressed up in fall colors.
Nevada City, a fiery gold rush town in California’s Sierra foothills, lures you with its impeccably preserved Victorian streets, where historic buildings house quirky shops, buzzing bars, and top-notch restaurants that hum with character. Its eclectic vibe pulses through colorful art galleries, lively music venues, and a spirited scene that makes every night feel like a festival.
We will leave the shop on Thursday morning and return on Sunday for a four-day, three-night ride.
This event is for Paid Chapter Members ONLY! If you are not a member, sign up here before booking your room.
Itinerary
Thursday morning, we will leave at daybreak since we have an 11-hour day ahead of us. On our way up to Nevada City, we plan to stop at Gold Country IMRG's dealership in Auburn, CA. On Friday, we will ride Hwy 49 over Yuba Pass, around to Lake Tahoe, Truckee, and back to Nevada City. Saturday, we will hang out in town and ride some local back roads. On Sunday, we'll come home similar to our ride there. Both Thursday and Sunday will be very long rides (both are 500-mile days). This is a long-distance, endurance ride. Please make sure your bike and body are ready to make the trip. Hydrate and rest up.
Lodging
We have rented a house in downtown Nevada City where we will cook meals, have a fire, and play games. The house has five rooms and sleeps 10 people, but only if you are able to share a bed with someone. Each room in the house is $200 per night. If more folks go than we have beds in the house, or you'd like to have a more affordable option, the Northern Queen Inn has plenty of rooms at very reasonable rates (~$100 per room, per night). The Northern Queen is about 0.75 miles from the house (you can walk it, but since this is a tourist town, we can also get an Uber). Please email Greybeard (james.carter@ocimrg.com) if you want to check on rooms in the house - first come, first served**.**
We encourage everyone to combine sleeping arrangements with other riders, as this will make the limited accommodation more economical, efficient, and fun.
Bring layers on this trip. The travel days through the Central Valley will be warm to hot, but the foothills, higher elevations, and nights will be cool.
This long-distance endurance ride is designed for experienced members in good health with motorcycles in optimal running condition. To ensure your motorcycle's condition, please schedule a Complimentary 35-Point Inspection at Indian Motorcycle of Orange County prior to the ride. Please schedule far enough ahead to allow for any work that may need to be done.
