This weekly online meetup welcomes veteran screenwriters and rookies alike to read some of the best pro spec scripts out there and discuss them. Together we read through mind blowing and inspiring screenplays from the annual Black List, Nicholl Fellowship, Hit List, Blood List, Cannes List and Sundance Lab as well as unproduced gems from Hollywood studio archives, occasionally followed by a live Q&A with the writer.

**(FEB 26) KUNG FU PANDA** by Jonathan Aibel & Glenn Berger. Animated Comedy. Threatened by a gang of snow leopards, the jungle animals call upon an inept panda to become a kung fu master and save the Valley of Peace.

**(Mar 5) FORBIDDEN FRUITS** by Meredith Alloway & Lily Houghton. Featured on the 2023 Black List. Free People employee Apple secretly runs a witchy femme cult in the basement of the mall store after hours with fellow fruits Cherry and Fig. But when new hire Pumpkin challenges their ‘girl boss’ ways, the women are forced to face their own poisons or succumb to a bloody fate. Based on Lily Houghton’s stage play: Of The Woman Came The Beginning Of Sin And Through Her We All Die. Following a compelling cold open hook, this well-written stage play adaptation keeps the reader turning pages by raising questions, a refreshing take on tired old tropes.

**(Mar 12) GLADIATOR** by David Franzoni. Historical action. A former Roman General sets out to exact vengeance against the corrupt emperor who murdered his family and sent him into slavery.

**(Mar 19) WHAT WE BECOME** by Amy Jo Johnson. Erotic thriller. Featured on the 2022 Black List. A successful author/wife/mother plans a trip to a bucolic island to crack her next book and finds herself in a surprising situation.

**(Mar 26) HAIL CAESAR** by Ethan Coen and Joel Coen. Dark comedy. When a Hollywood star mysteriously disappears in the middle of filming, the studio sends their fixer to get him back.
