Welcome to our very first gathering of the Puebla Somatic Wellness & Mindfulness group! We are excited to embark on a journey of self-discovery, learning how to connect with our bodies and minds to foster greater calm, resilience, and authentic well-being.

In this introductory session, you'll discover practical tools to:

  • Release everyday stress and tension held within your body.
  • Cultivate a deeper sense of self-awareness and presence.
  • Begin to understand the profound mind-body connection for holistic healing.

What to Expect (Our Agenda for the Evening):

  • Welcome & Introductions (5-10 min): A warm greeting and a brief opportunity to say hello to fellow explorers.
  • Insights into Somatic Wellness (20-30 min): Your host, Laurence Galian, will share accessible concepts from his decades of experience and new book on somatic therapy, explaining how listening to your body can transform your peace of mind.
  • Guided Experiential Practice (15-20 min): Participate in a gentle, guided exercise – such as a body scan or mindful breathing – designed to help you tune into your internal sensations and find immediate calm.
  • Q&A & Open Discussion (15-20 min): A chance to ask questions, share your initial experiences (if you feel comfortable), and connect with others.
  • Closing & Future Plans (5-10 min): Information about our next meeting and informal mingling.

Language: This session will be primarily conducted in English, given my intermediate Spanish proficiency. Spanish speakers, I welcome your translation support if needed. A welcoming atmosphere for all participants, especially Spanish speakers.

What to Bring:

  • A curious mind and an open heart!
  • A notebook and pen if you wish to take notes.
  • Comfortable clothing (Please wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows for ease of movement and avoids distractions during somatic exercises).
  • A water bottle to stay hydrated.
