San Antonio Public Library

Join us the first Monday of every other month as we read our way through the stacks of the library! Every other month we read a book from a different genre and meet to discuss our thoughts with our fellow book lovers. Through The Stacks Book Club is a fun, relaxed space and finishing the book is definitely not required. All adults welcome! The selection for this month is “Cursed Daughters” By Oyinkan Braithwaite. A young woman must shake off a family curse and the widely held belief that she is the reincarnation of her dead cousin in this wickedly funny, brilliantly perceptive novel about love, female rivalry, and superstition.

Join us for a book club that gives you the opportunity to be with other readers without the pressure of required reading or discussion. Light refreshments will be provided by the library. We will meet at the Thousand Oaks Branch every first Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm.

5:30-6:00pm - Share what you're reading (if you like), grab snacks/drinks, settle-in
6:00-7:00pm - Quiet reading hour
7:00-7:30pm - Socialize or keep reading - whatever your preference

Join us to explore American Sign Language! Whether you are new to ASL or a fluent signer, this group is meant for you to connect. The first hour will start with the basics of the ASL alphabet, numbers, and foundational signs. The second hour will center around Deaf culture, communication etiquette, and themed lessons to build up your ASL vocabulary. All levels and abilities are welcome, ages 13+. Presented by LEAD Enterprise: Language Equity, Access, Advocacy & Advancement for the Deaf.
