This is a platform that organizers pay for ($180 per year) and try to provide events that MEMBERS WANT. Meetup discriminates against singles with their new "policies" that ban events for singles. Or at least that's what they say, as some singles groups and events are still being hosted and operated despite being reported many, many times.

Furthermore, Meetup continues to take functionality away from organizers and continues to increase the cost of "owning" a group. This results in a a diluted experience by you, the end user. Complaints by organizers numbered in the thousands, and Meetup ignored them despite the strong protest.
