The cherry on top of our nature adventure is our visit to one of the most **Disney-like castles in Germany – Schloss Schwerin** and our stay in the charming Hanseatic harbour town of Rostock. **WHAT IS THE DETAILED PLAN?** **Day 1:** We catch a train to the picturesque castle of Schwerin. Schwerin castle sits on an island surrounded by lakes & forests, which all contributes to give it that stunning appearance. We meet our local guide outside the train station and then proceed getting enthralled by his stories about this magical castle town with the tour finishing right by the castle. Post the guided tour, we grab a bite / drink and admire the Castle gardens before heading to Rostock, where we would be staying in for the next 2 nights. **Day 2:** Post breakfast, we are off to briefly explore the Hanseatic town of Rostock. We then take a train to the seaside town of Sassnitz to discover Rügen island and hike in UNESCO listed national park Jasmund along stunning white chalk cliffs that reach up to 100 meters while surrounded by beech forests. We hike almost the entire Jasmund National park, finishing back at Sassnitz and grabbing a bite / drink before heading back to Rostock. **Day 3:** Post breakfast & checkout, we take a mix of train & bus to get to the beautiful seaside resort town of Nienhagen (hike starting point), where we would be hiking between Nienhagen beach & Warnemunde beach, one of Germany’s most beautiful beaches. We’ll say hello to an iconic lighthouse and walk 500m into the Baltic sea on a pier in Warnemunde where we grab a bite / drink before heading back to Rostock and then back home. Hello challengers, For those of you that survived the winters of Berlin, I'm getting geared up for our next meetup! In this workshop, we’ll go beyond simply taking photos, we’ll train your eye to see color with intention and use it as a powerful storytelling tool. Instead of focusing on subjects alone, this challenge invites you to explore Berlin through a single lens: **color**. You’ll be split into small groups and assigned a specific color. Your mission is to hunt for it, frame it, and bring it to life through a series of images. By the end, each group will become the storyteller of their color across the city. Along the way, you’ll learn how to use color not just as an aesthetic, but as a way to guide attention, create emotion, and build stronger compositions. Learn to see, compose, and tell stories through color using contrast, simplicity, and creative interpretation. 🧠 **How the Challenge Works** * You’ll be split into groups of **2–3 people** * Each group is assigned **one color** * You’ll have **\~60 minutes** to explore and shoot * Your goal: capture a small series of images that represent your color in Berlin **A Social Experience** As much as this is a photography group, it’s about connection and community. An afternoon bookclub, organized by our member Patrick Rutledge. We will meet in the café of this cultural center and talk about what we are currently reading :) and, if we've time, chat in general about books. Please also feel free to read a sample from you book if you wish. Usually we read both fiction and non-fiction (history, philosophy, sociology, and other topics). Bring your Kindle, your tablet, or your paper books. The discussion will be in English, but of course feel free to bring books in any language.

Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same book...this is better! It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading. This hike follows sandy woodland trails and quiet paths along the Havel River, gradually climbing through the forest to reach some of Berlin’s best vantage points. We’ll climb the steps of the historic Grunewaldturm before stopping for a relaxed break at Kaisergarten am Grunewaldturm, a traditional beer garden overlooking the river. From there, we continue through the forest and up to the summit of Drachenberg, where wide views open out across the Grunewald and the distant Berlin skyline. Here the river widens into large lakes and peaceful bays surrounded by forest. **Grunewaldturm:** Built in 1899, this historic observation tower rises above the forest overlooking the Havel. Climb the steps to enjoy wide views over the lakes, woodland, and the distant Berlin skyline. **Kaisergarten am Grunewaldturm:** A classic German beer garden beside the tower. With views across the river, it’s the perfect place for a relaxed break, a drink, or a snack. **Drachenberg:** One of Berlin’s best viewpoints. In addition to his comics, Santoro has been an influential voice in comics education and criticism, co-founding the magazine *ComicsComics* and creating the **Santoro Correspondence Course for Comic Book Makers**, which has helped train and inspire a new generation of cartoonists.
