Hello everyone! We climb at Crystal City Movement every Monday. Please read rest of the description carefully. We mostly do tope rope climbing but we can arrange bouldering sessions as well. If you prefer lead climbing please post on the comments to find your belay partner. ## Requirements * If you are not a Movement member, you'll get a daily pass. If you don't have the equipments you can rent them in the gym. * Please sign the waiver through: https://movementgyms.com/waiver/ * You can get a discounted day pass and free rental gear if you say you are here for my meetup All skill levels are welcome! If you are totally new to climbing and want to do top rope, then you have to have a belay certificate. In order to do that; * You can check Movement gym Intro to Rope Climbing class : https://movementgyms.com/crystal-city/climbing/classes/ * After the course, you should do the 'Belay Check' which can be done as soon as 24 hours after you take the class. The test takes around 15 mins so it can be done before the climbing session. This is a single person event for an in-person quantum healing session in Alexandria, VA. If you are interested in visiting a past-life and getting in touch with your higher self, please join me for this free and very intense opportunity. The session is based on Dolores Cannon’s *Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique* and takes about three hours to complete. We have human friendly cats. There are some small activities that should be accomplished prior to the meeting, for a more quality session, so I will be requesting an email address to send instructions to. DCC's "Monday Moves" on the Capital Crescent Trail and through Rock Creek Park Join DCC and Conte’s Bike Shop (Navy Yard) for a fun ~33.5 mile and ~1,200 ft elevation ride to the: Audi Field, Titanic Memorial, Wharf, Hains Point, along the Capital Crescent Trail, Bethesda, through Rock Creek Park, WW II Memorial, The Mall, and U.S. Capitol. This ride will be geared towards our newer riders (with a chill pace and no one left behind), but all are welcomed. This ride will be on the streets, trails and sidewalks. We will go over things to help riders become more comfortable with riding in groups. We will meet at Conte’s Navy Yard Bike Shop at 10 am and depart at 10:15. All riders should bring their own hydration and nutrition, as well as a spare inner tube. *** Please, no music that can be heard by other riders or ear headphones that impede your hearing. Parking is limited at the Navy Yard, so for those driving, an option is to park at Anacostia Park (aquatic center) and take 11th street bridge to M Street, then a left on 4th. ****all riders ride at their own risk**** If there is a chance of inclement weather expected on Monday, a cancelation notice will be posted by 9:00 pm on Sunday; otherwise, the ride will take place. **The Goombay 7th Annual New Years Winter Hike 2026** "Let's get out and start the year off with a hike in the woods" **Thursday\, Jan\. 1st \| 1pm \- 3pm** This is a Intermediate Level trail that follows the shoreline of the lake for the most park. The terrain is mostly flat and is ideal for new and advance hikers. This trail is approximately 4-5 miles and pets are allowed. **Wheaton Regional Park** \| 2002 Shorefield Rd\. This trail is a loop trail approximately 5-6 miles in length. **CAN BEGINNERS ATTEND THIS HIKE:** Yes, this is a intermediate level hike but beginners can handle the hike. **WHAT IS THE PACE OF THE GROUP:** The group pace will be moderate and may break up into two pace groups (fast or slow). We will have hike leaders mixed within the group and we will stop periodically for water and rest. **WHAT TYPE OF HIKE IS THIS:** This is a loop trail hike and will start and end at the same location **ARE PETS ALLOWED:** Yes **IS PARKING FREE:** Parking is free but we suggest you arrive as early as possible to secure a good parking space **WHAT SHOULD I WEAR:** A good rule of thumb is to dress comfortably and in layers. Dressing in layers will allow you to stay warm when your cold and as you warm up, you can take off layers and not over heat. **3rd Annual Great Chili Cook Off**: Calling All Cooks! This is your shot at dethroning our 2-time repeat Chili Champion and claim the 1st place Chef's Cap and Apron for yourself. Second and Third place winners will also receive a cap and apron. This is often one of our more well-attended events so please RSVP early and come hungry. Members will be given a ticket to vote for their favorite chili. No campaigning this year please. Let the chili speak for itself (no, not like that. I know what you are thinking.
