Release Your Inner Writer - Monday's at 4pm pacific, 5pm mountain, 6pm central
Release Your Inner Writer - Monday's at 4pm pacific, 5pm mountain, 6pm central
**Release Your Inner Writer** **Release Your Inner Writer is for anyone who feels they are a writer, wants to be a writer, or those who want to explore writing in a comfortable and supportive setting. We’ll set the stage for you to write creatively with opportunities to share with the group, or not, whatever you’re comfortable with.** Have you ever thought: “I have an interesting story, but I don’t know how to start sharing it with people”? Have you ever thought of writing a book? Do you simply want to start journaling? Every person has a story to share, and all of them are transformational for us and sometimes for others. When we write our thoughts and ideas down, we move internal content to an external device like a notebook or a laptop. By doing this we’re able to clear our heads and uncover one layer after another. **Hosted by Kathy Nutt** **Kathy Nutt** is a creative who uses many media and styles to convey a glimpse into her mysterious, whimsical world. Although mainly focused on the visual arts, she dabbles in the written word and is endeavoring to cultivate a consistent practice of writing, whether it be poetry, essays, short stories, or journaling. Kathy believes a writing practice (along with any creative practice) is a beneficial way to break through the mundane and view our worlds through fresh new eyes. We may discover a breakthrough, change a pattern, or just experience catharsis. Or we may simply arrive in a place of joy. She believes the creative process is more important than the finished product and that creativity is for everyone, not just the gifted few. **CREATING CONNECTION CANADA** is a network of welcoming and inclusive communities committed to sharing authentic conversation, nurturing meaningful activities, promoting holistic wellness practices, and fostering compassionate action. We are LGBTQ+ affirming. People of every walk of life, culture, faith, or tradition, participate in a myriad of connection groups, forming meaningful community within this diversity. As a result, these communities are multi-faceted - expressing the inspirations, aspirations, wisdom, practices, and blessing of all. While we encourage you to share openly, we ask that you do so in a kind and considerate manner. **As a REGISTERED NON-PROFIT** charity working to bring community together through like-minded interests, we welcome and gratefully appreciate any financial support. We invite you to join us for a fun and exciting virtual meeting to develop your public speaking and leadership skills. At the St-Lazare Inspirers Toastmasters we believe in order to develop confidence, you need a safe and fun learning environment. Put Passion into Practice and Perform with Pride! You can also visit our website to get more information on our club. https://sli.toastmastersclubs.org/ ***Preparing for Your First Toastmasters Meeting: A Guide for Guests*** If you're considering attending your first Toastmasters meeting, congratulations! You're taking an important step in developing your public speaking and leadership skills. But, we understand that it can be intimidating to attend a meeting for the first time, especially when you're not sure what to expect. That's why we've put together this guide to help you prepare for your first Toastmasters meeting. By the time you arrive, you'll have a good understanding of what to expect and why Toastmasters is structured the way it is. Here's what you need to know: * **What is Toastmasters?** Toastmasters is an organization that provides a supportive and positive learning environment where members can develop their public speaking and leadership skills. Members meet each week to practice giving speeches, participate in impromptu speaking exercises, and give and receive feedback. This is a combination of in person meeting as well as online. * **A Brief History of Toastmasters** Toastmasters was founded in 1924 by Ralph C. Smedley in Santa Ana, California. Smedley recognized the need for a supportive and structured environment where people could develop their public speaking and leadership skills. Today, Toastmasters has over 363,000 members in 143 countries, making it one of the largest organizations of its kind in the world. * **What happens at a Toastmasters meeting?** Each Toastmasters meeting has a specific structure, with several different roles and activities. Here are some of the key elements you can expect: The meeting begins with a formal opening, usually led by the Sergeant at Arms (SAA) who introduces the Chair of the meeting. The Chair will lead the first half of the meeting and introduce the mini-roles. The purpose of having many small roles is to give the chance to more people to speak. The Toastmaster of the Day (TMD) takes the lead for the second half of the meeting, the education session, which starts with the prepared speeches. Members who have signed up in advance will give a prepared speech on a topic of their choice. The length and format of the speech will depend on the member's level and the type of speech they are giving. **Next is the Table Topics**: This is an opportunity for members to practice impromptu speaking. The Table Topics Master will ask a question or give a prompt, and participants have 1-2 minutes to speak on the topic. **Evaluations:** For each prepared speech, an evaluator will give feedback on the speaker's strengths and areas for improvement. This is an important part of the Toastmasters learning experience, as it helps members identify areas for growth and improvement. The meeting ends with a closing quiz. The quiz master will ask questions to make sure participants were listening! * **Why is Toastmasters structured this way?** The structure of a Toastmasters meeting is designed to provide a supportive and positive learning environment for members. With all the available roles, participants have many opportunities to practice their public speaking and leadership skills, receive feedback, and improve over time. In addition, the structure helps to ensure that meetings are well-organized and run smoothly. This allows members to focus on their personal growth and development, without getting bogged down by administrative details. * **What should I expect as a guest?** As a guest, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment. You will have the opportunity to observe the different activities and get a feel for what Toastmasters is all about. You may be asked to participate in Table Topics, but you are under no obligation to do so. If you prefer to just observe, that's perfectly fine. Most people visiting for the first time find it interesting and unique because of the structure and all the roles. After the meeting, you will have the opportunity to talk to members and ask any questions you have about Toastmasters. We encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the organization and how it can benefit you.

Fit and Happy Indoors - Gentle start of the week – half hour Zoom class
This exercise session is aimed at people over 50. Our exercises are gentle but effective. There will be no floor exercises in this session, but you can expect to work hard! Not exercised for a while? Painful knees or hips? Or just like to end your week with some gentle movement? This half hour class will be a great place to start. No fast, jerky movements, but this will still be a good workout for all levels. Beginners and experienced participants are equally welcome. We will combine chair exercises with standing exercises, designed to strengthen your muscles to help support your joints and improve your balance and flexibility. What you will need: • ca 1.5x1.5 meter space to move around. • tablet, laptop or computer screen with internet connection • two water bottles, cans, or small hand weights • a straight kitchen or dining room chair without armrests. My rates 10 session card: My normal rate is £89 for 10 sessions. (different rates apply for my Parkinson’s classes) Pay monthly: Sign up for unlimited sessions per week, for a flat rate of £70 per month if paid monthly in advance. Pay What Works: The price shown above is the “true” value of the session that best reflects the work I put into preparing and leading your session. However, I understand that not everyone can afford to pay full price, and I don’t want that to stop you from joining us. In an effort to find a balance between more financial accessibility and sustainable pricing, I now offer a “Pay What Works” model. This allows for financial flexibility while still valuing and respecting the work and energy I provide in creating and delivering these classes. You tell me what you would like to pay: For your new payment, please let me know if you are happy to pay full price, or if you would like a reduction Please send an email to ailien@fitandhappyoutdoors.com with the heading “INVOICE please”- followed by “FAHO 1” to pay full price as quoted below, “FAHO 2”, for 20% off, or “FAHO 3” for 50% off. And please tell me if you want to pay for 10 sessions, or if you’d like to pay monthly. I prefer payment by bank transfer. At the moment I do not accept cheques. The queues by the banks are just too long. When you sign up, I will send you the link and the password you will need to join this session! Like many others my work has been severely affected by the Corona quarantine, when it stopped my normal work from one day to the next. As I am self employed, I have no other means of income. By joining this class you help me pay my bills, and I appreciate that enormously!

"Lunch and Learn - Here's What It Really Takes to Make Serious Money..."
Lunch and Learn From the Comfort of Your Desk... There's a Reason Why They Call Him "Mr. Incredible!" Since Getting Started as a Real Estate Investor In 2012, Howard Johnson Routinely Gets 6-Figure Checks By Wholesaling Single-Family Houses In the D.C. Region. Now He Shares His Story... [Join Us For This Important and Timely Master Class - REGISTER BELOW] After getting taken by the "out-of-town gurus" for more than $30,000, Howard Johnson had a deep sense that no one teaching people how to make money in real estate was "capable of telling the truth". Despite his distrust of real estate trainers and training programs, he decided to go at it "one last time" and after doing his research discovered Sherman Ragland and Realinvestors®️. After agreeing to "give Realinvestors®️ a shot", Howard got his first deal in just 14 days. After closing his first deal, he went on to do 14 more deals in less than a year, earning over $100,000 and his personal financial freedom. Today, Howard routinely makes $18,000, $22,000 and $24,000, per deal. On several occasions, Howard has made over $100,000, on just one deal by simply putting the property under contract and "flipping the contract". During this session, Howard shares the details of how he had to overcome the GURU B.S. and shares what it really takes to get past your first deal, start making a 6-Figure (part-time) real estate income from home, then start getting regular 6-Figure paydays in real estate.

Tour of Brothers Drake Meadery and mead/tea tasting
Tour of Brothers Drake Meadery and mead/tea tasting
Join us for a tour of Brothers Drake Meadery in Grandview, hosted by the owner Oron Benary. He will explain the mead-making process and offer us generous samples of their fine meads. Mead is basically wine that is made from honey instead of grapes. There are many different flavors that range from dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet, to sweet. They are best known for their Apple Pie Mead. Oron has offered us a special price of 5.00 each person for the tour and tasting, which is normally 25.00 per person. I've taken the tour several times, and it's always enlightening and fun. Rebecca will bring a tea that will pair well with the mead for a tea tasting afterwards. Park anywhere around the building. Please avoid parking in front of the houses in the neighborhood behind the Meadery. Please keep your RSVP current. Knowing how many will attend will help Brothers Drake plan accordingly to accommodate us.
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
We started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that. We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
Feel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
Here are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
Tabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 Wonders…
Social deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, Werewords…
IMPORTANT:
1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you haven’t come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
