HTML5 Games Hands-on

Détails
What were you dreaming to do as a kid? If you went into programming because of games, this session is tailored for you!
Join the fun and discover how to build multi-players mobile games. We show you a template and you’ll do the coding.
The example is based on KissingTurtles games (Grails48 hackathon project, see http://kissingturtles.cloudfoundry.com/ (http://kissingturtles.cloudfoundry.com/start-index.html)).
We will focus on 3 points:
-
HTML5 canvas programming: canvas 2D API, browser animation effect
-
Mobile programming with HTML5 and jQuery mobile, Angular etc..
-
We then delve into multi-players challenges (using event-push Grails plugin).
The session will last 3 hours animated by Mathieu and me. It is organized by JS Sophia and RivieraGUG. Note that it's not a talk, it's a workshop. We recommend you pair (it'll be more fun) but don't worry no need to come in couple, you'll find someone here. Bring your laptop.
Having Grails 2.1, Java 6, git client and a modern browser installed is required.
After the session, Fred volonteers to share with us some of its favourites fwk and libraries, he's having fun with. Feel free to do the same and bring your own stuff/idea to discuss.
We should meet at Avisto:
Space Antipolis 1
2323, Porte 15, Chemin Saint-Bernard
06220 Vallauris
(To be confirmed by Olivier)
We did a similar workshop in Madrid last month:
