The use of staking as a consensus mechanism on the protocol level is becoming widespread in 2020. With Ethereum 2.0, the continued development of Polkadot, Tezos, Cardano, and others, Proof of Stake is ultimately changing the landscape of future networks and blockchains. Additionally, and on top of the protocols, the current surge in decentralized finance projects utilizing high yield farming from loans, hoping for hyper gains, further increases the adoption of staking protocols.

Bill Laboon - Technical Education Lead at the Web3 Foundation

Bill is the Technical Education Lead at the Web3 Foundation. Before this, he was a lecturer in the Computer Science Department of the University of Pittsburgh, teaching courses in software quality assurance, software engineering, and blockchain technology. He is a frequent speaker at conferences on a variety of topics, including cryptocurrency, software quality, and the ethics of software development. He is the author of two books: A Friendly Introduction to Software Testing, an undergraduate textbook; and Strength in Numbers, a near-future novel set in a world in which cryptocurrency has eliminated traditional money. Bill has a BS in Computer Science and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as an MS in Software Design & Management from Carnegie Mellon University.

Dankrad Feist, Researcher at Ethereum Foundation working Ethereum 2.0 . After finishing his PhD in physics at Cambridge, Dankrad entered the technology sector for several years. In 2016, he co-founded Cara, a startup in the e-health sector. Since March 2019, he is working as a researcher for the Ethereum Foundation, working on the Ethereum 2.0 protocol.

Adrian Brink - Founder at Cryptium Labs and Metastate. Adrian is working on building and deploying this vision of the "Internet of Blockchains". To that end, He is a Co-Founder of Cryptium Labs & Metastate in order to support many Proof-of-Stake networks, a Core Developer, and an avid speaker & writer about this vision.

Aggelos Kiayias, Chief Scientist IOHK - Aggelos is chair in Cyber Security and Privacy and director of the Blockchain Technology Laboratory at the University of Edinburgh. He is also the Chief Scientist at blockchain technology company IOHK.

Christian Matt is a senior researcher at Concordium. Before joining Concordium, he worked at the University of California, Santa Barbara as a postdoctoral scholar. Christian holds a PhD in computer science from ETH Zurich and studied computer science and mathematics at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in Germany. His research spans several areas of cryptography and he has published papers at leading venues for cryptographic research.
