Born out of the Bitcoin protocol, blockchain is the new intellectual word, but is it that magical and everpresent in every preconcieved problem? Can it operate outside of the Bitcoin domain, propagate trust as part of a private chain, solve regulation obstacles. Or is it just another gimmick, that enjoyes attention thanks

to the founder’s myth and a vibrant developer’s community, spawned by mistrust for the central banking system of[masked]?

We are announcing the kick-off of an exciting Next Money Moscow journey with a breathtaking journey on blockchain, where leading international minds as well as local practitioners would share their knowledge.

Gleb has almost 20 years of private equity experience in both Western and Eastern European private equity funds. Prior to founding iTech Capital Gleb spend 5 years [masked]) as a Partner with Mint Capital, midsized Scandinavian private equity fund actively investing in the Eastern European market. Before that Gleb worked for more than 5 years [masked]) as Managing Director at Alfa Capital Partners, where he was also one of the co-founders.

12:00 An academic perspective and impact on real-life applications of blockchain tech. Vili Lehdonvirta, Senior Research Fellow (faculty member) at the Oxford Internet Institute (OII), a department of the social science division of the University of Oxford.

Vili is also a OII's DPhil Programme Director, responsible for the department's doctoral programme. His two main research themes are online labour markets and virtual economies. More generally, his research deals with the design and socioeconomic implications of digital marketplaces and platforms, using conventional social research methods and novel data science approaches.

Jon Matonis is a Founding Board Director of the Bitcoin Foundation and his career has included senior influential posts at VISA International, VeriSign, Sumitomo Bank, and Hushmail. An economist and e-Money researcher focused on expanding the circulation of nonpolitical digital currencies, Jon also serves as an independent board director to companies in the Bitcoin, blockchain, mobile payments, and iGaming sectors.
