If you're in Paris during the weekend before the dotGo conference and interested in robotics, IoT and tiny programmable things then you're in for a treat : Ron Evans (https://github.com/deadprogram) will be running a Gobot (https://gobot.io) workshop on sunday 5th from 11am til 6pm.

This event is mostly organised for attendees of the dotGo conference but some room will also be arranged for local gophers.

To participate you should have Go installed on your laptop and know the basics of the language and the toolchain.

Some gear, kindly brought by Ron, will be available for you to borrow for the duration of the workshop (Arduino Unos, Intel IoT Gateway, Grove IoT Starter Kits, Parrot Minidrones (BLE-controlled), Sphero robots (SPRK+ and Ollie), PS/3 compatible gamepads).

Which translates to 3 different activities:

  • Microcontroller
  • Drone
  • Robot

People will be encouraged to pair together to make these devices available to as many possible.

Also, if you're interested in participating, have a look at the list of platforms supported by Gobot (https://gobot.io/documentation/platforms/) : bringing one or two items on the list could come in handy for you or for other participants to borrow in case we run out of equipment.

To make sure everyone does show up will be asking you a little donation of at least 10€, which will be redistributed, as suggested by Ron, to the local meetup Women Who Go Paris.

A bientôt les Gobots !
