Abby Mitchell (https://www.linkedin.com/in/abby-mitchell/)
=== Bio ===
Abby joined IBM in 2019 as a full stack web developer before moving to the Quantum Computing department as a Developer Advocate in March 2021. She is currently working on Qiskit, IBM’s Open Source Software for Quantum Computers. As a primarily self-taught developer and quantum enthusiast, she is passionate about encouraging people from any background to consider pursuing their interests in technology.
=== Abstract ===
This talk is aimed at coding enthusiasts who may have heard a bit about quantum computing in the news, but have no idea what it means to actually start building quantum software. The talk is designed to give the audience a high-level overview of what quantum computing is and its real-world applications, as well as demonstrate how to get started building quantum circuits, writing quantum code, and contributing to quantum open source. This talk has no pre-requisites (although some basic python and Github knowledge would be beneficial).
