R in Swiss Official Statistics: Spring Meetup

Welcome back to adminR!

We are pleased to invite you to our eighth edition of the semi-annual R meetup, adminR – R in Official Statistics. We are back to Zurich and will meet at the Digital Society Initiative DSI, who co-hosts with the Statistical Office of the Canton of Zurich.

R gilt in den Augen vieler immer noch als reine statistische Programmiersprache, obwohl es viel mehr sein kann als das. In meinem Vortrag möchte ich vorstellen, wie wir unseren OGD Veröffentlichungsprozess im Kanton Thurgau automatisieren möchten. Dabei sollen vor allem das Ansteuern von API Schnittstellen aus R heraus, die Einbindung von Rocker Containern sowie das Zusammenspiel von Git, Gitlab und R in den Fokus gerückt werden. Ziel soll es sein, R Usern Möglichkeiten zur Automatisierung abseits von Python und klassischen Linux Servern aufzuzeigen.

BFS: an R package to search and download data from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office

The BFS R package allows to explore and access Swiss public data in a dynamic and reproducible way. Users can discover the latest BFS datasets available, extract their metadata and download them in any language (German, French, Italian or English) directly from the R console.
