Auckland Hiking Group (Est.2006)

Hi, we are a social hiking group with opportunities to meet and talk with people from near and far while hiking, exploring, and appreciating our wonderful scenic nature .
The majority of our events are day hikes in forests, parks, streams, and along coastlines in and around the Auckland region. We also venture further afield on weekend camping trips, especially in summer, and sometimes we have multi-day hikes.
Our hikes vary in difficulty. Some don't require any previous hiking experience, some are more challenging. We hike as a group, usually at a median pace that is most natural and comfortable for middle of group, and we stop at track junctions and places of interest along the way.

We began in 2003 as a group of friends who like to hike with people, and we have been on Meetup since 2006. Membership is free. We don't have event fees or ask for donations. (Carpool passengers give specified amount to driver; some events may have 3rd party costs, eg, for accommodation.)
