A few words about me ^0^ (can be long haha)

Hello!안녕하세요!
My name is 종혁Jonghyuk. In France, I usually introduce myself using the name Noah (because people often find my Korean name too difficult to pronounce, haha!). I was born and raised in Korea, and later I went to France to study for a year. After that, I started teaching Korean and English, first in Korea and now in France!
I remember when I started learning French (it was at university in Korea). I was learning expressions like "꼼씨꼼싸comme ci comme ça" (so so / In English, I learned "I'm fine thank you and you"), but when I arrived in France, I realized that nobody use it haha😢 That's when I understood that the expressions and vocabulary we learn in textbooks aren't always used in real life.
And I think it's always better to learn the expressions and words that native speakers use daily!
It was through meeting people, talking, working, and then teaching Korean to French speakers that I realized something important about language learning.
In fact, speaking to people isn't easy in itself. Yes, I agree that learning a language (and its grammar) is complicated, but I realized that once I could get rid of the stress I felt when speaking a language that wasn't my own, everything became simpler(ofc still difficult haha).
And I think that learning a language directly from a native speaker helps enormously!
I've also been using English daily for over five years now, and honestly, I consider myself fluent. But even so, sometimes when I meet people whose native language is English, I have some doubts back in. I wonder, "Is this really the right expression to use in this situation? Couldn't I sound even more natural by using a different words?"
I realize now, especially while teaching Korean, that these little doubts that persist and sometimes even resurface after several years of learning are perfectly natural.

I've seen many people who, even after studying Korean for years or even months, still struggle to gain confidence. I believe that when learning a language, beyond memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules, the most important thing is to try to express yourself and never give up포기하지 말아요!!

Even if what you say isn't perfect, even if you make mistakes, it's absolutely not a big deal. Because it's by making mistakes that we learn.
What I want to do today is share my approach to language learning with motivated people. So if you're interested, join me and let's take some time together during our "Korean Chat" sessions to practice, without any pressure!

And if you're also interested in Korean culture and would like to create an online community around it (beyond just learning the language), feel free to send me a message! I'm sure that by discussing what's possible, we can grow our little community of chatters and enjoy ourselves together ^0^
