I am happy to invite you all to the wonderful Taille Crayon, just a couple of minutes on foot from metro Gratte Ciel or Flachet. We will have a room to ourselves, let's meet and talk about programming without the use of generative AI, to take a break from it getting pushed into everything.

Because we love programming.

(you can also sign up for this event on keskonfai)

The plan
1. 2-3 short presentations up to 15 minutes each; no specific language or framework, open to all, newcomers and experienced developers both -- let's have serendipity work for us,
2. stay and talk over drinks, alcoholic or not.

Leave and return any time you like, feel free to use the whole bar to talk to others, consider supporting our hosts through buying some food and/or drinks.

Talks

  1. From Python to Go (and sometimes back): how do these two compare in daily work after years of experience with both? What is fun, what not so much, why use which? By Marcin: a software engineer since the 90s, working with Python for 20+ years and Go for 10+, having spent most of the last decade using both to build the infrastructure for a large company.
  2. [description of the second talk coming soon]
  3. a place for your talk! See the group description for ideas but in short: come and show us something interesting about programming, any language and level, as long as there is code involved and you don't use generative AI for that code and for the presentation itself; type things yourself, draw stick figures, take photos, and copy+paste memes like it's 2010! French or English, either works. There will be a projector for visuals.

The event is free of charge, just please sign up here or on keskonfai in advance so that we know how many people to expect!
