We drive about 20 min to the trailhead near Saint-Ismier / Manival.

== 🥾 About the Hike 🥾 ==
This route follows beautiful forest trails above the Manival torrent, with several scenic viewpoints over the Grésivaudan valley and surrounding massifs.
We start at 350 m altitude.
We’ll pass through old forest tracks, torrent crossings, and mountain paths with a few steeper and more technical sections near the upper trail.
The area is well known for its wild atmosphere and impressive erosion-control structures built in the torrent valley.
At the top, we cross the torrent and get to the Cabane forestier de Manival.
If your're motivated, we can continue to the impressive Col du Baure (1200m) (+ 4 km round & +300 m ) Satellite photos show a tiny bit of snow at the top.

📏 Distance: ~8 km ( or 12 )
📈 Elevation : ~500m +ve ( or 800 )
⏱️ Hiking time: ~5 h
🥾 Difficulty: Moderate
⚠️ Some sections may be rocky, uneven, or slightly exposed. Good hiking shoes recommended.
Be prepared for wet terrain.
