De quoi s'agit-il
We ride all over Victoria and sometimes beyond, on trips ranging from a few hours to multiple days and covering all kinds of surfaces, levels and places.
Our club has a proud fifty year history.
You can take part in three riding days (RSVP via MeetUp) before deciding to become a full member for $25 per year.

What is the Melbourne Bicycle Touring Club?
MBTC brings together like-minded people keen to share their experience. We’re a great club for anyone interested in exploring longer-distance bike travel, including camping and overnighters.
What is bicycle touring?
Bicycle touring (some might call it bikepacking) is all about experiencing the world on two wheels. Scenery, sightseeing and socialising are an integral part of our rides, and we love a good bakery (or cafe or market or pub).
Please be aware that everyone is riding at their own risk and the club does not take responsibility for any injuries or accidents you may have on any of our rides.

- Geelong Circuit, 45 kms (beginner, bike paths)Geelong South Railway Station, Geelong South
An update of the previous circuit around Geelong starting from and ending at South Geelong Station. The route follows the Geelong foreshore before heading through the industrial area of Corio. Coffee stop at Paddock Bakery (thank you Desley!) (about 5 km mark).
This will also be the last opportunity to buy BYO lunch before the lunch stop (see below).
After crossing over the Princess Highway, we follow the Ted Wilson Trail along the Geelong Ring Road. There is a steady climb to the top of the ridge at Hamlyn Heights before a very steep descent into Fyansford.
Lunch stop will be the Fyansford Commons (with toilets). BYO lunch (recommended) or try the Fyansford Hotel for a meal (depends on how busy they are when we get there). Allow an hour for lunch.
After lunch, we will detour via the Paper Mill and a view of Buckley's Falls (from the other side this time).
The track then takes us along the Barwon River for about 10 km until we cross under the railway tracks and head back towards South Geelong.
This ride is suitable for beginners as it is mainly on made bike tracks with short sections on road.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49737372
Take the 8.30 or 8.50 am train from Southern Cross. I will meet everyone at South Geelong Station. Please let me know if you are driving, then I can increase the attendance limit.
