Hello fellow otakus, let's watch some classical anime together! Maison de la Culture du Japon à Paris (MCJP) is hosting a retrospective showcasing the works of the famed anime director and Studio Ghibli co-founder, Isao Takahata. This event is for two of the screenings in the series, taking place the same day, Wednesday 29th October.

The first screening (starting at 17h) consists of an episode of the TV anime Ken the Wolf Boy, a 60s series about a boy living in the jungle with a pack of wolves; and the movie Gauche the Cellist, a tale of magical realism about finding inspiration, based on a book by Kenji Miyazawa. The second screening (starting at 19h30) is of Pom Poko, a film weaving together Japanese folklore with modern ecological themes. You can read more about the works here.

Tickets to the screenings cost 6 € a piece (3 € for Navigo card holders) and can be bought from the MCJP ticket shop.
