## 🎉 Nearly 150 RSVPs! Important Event Update

**📅 NEW DATE: Tuesday, October 27, 2026 — 7:00 PM**

Our very first Bangkok Founders & Investors gathering has attracted nearly **150 RSVPs**, far beyond what we originally anticipated!
After consulting with the venue management, we've determined that our original location is no longer suitable for a gathering of this size.
**It's a great problem to have!**
To ensure everyone has a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we're postponing the event by two weeks. See you at our new location **@ Tichuca Rooftop Bar**

### 🎟️ Important: Attendance Confirmation — 500 THB

We originally planned to make our first gathering completely free. However, with such strong interest and the additional costs of securing a private venue, we've made the difficult decision to introduce a **500 THB attendance fee**.
This also helps us distinguish confirmed attendees from RSVPs so we can prepare accordingly.

**To confirm your attendance:**

* Visit [https://cityofhats.com/meetup/](https://cityofhats.com/meetup/)
* Pay **500 THB** using the PromptPay QR code displayed on the website.
* **Already paid?** No further action is required.

Thank you for your understanding and support. We sincerely apologize for the second postponement, but we'd rather get our first gathering right than compromise the experience.

First Networking Night - Oct 27, 2026

Bangkok

**What does privacy actually mean in 2026?**

Encryption is only one piece of the puzzle.
AI, metadata collection, surveillance, digital identity, device security, anonymous communication and increasingly powerful governments and technology companies are changing what privacy means — and what it takes to protect it.
For the first **Global Privacy & Digital Freedom** meetup, we’re bringing together people interested in privacy, cybersecurity, technology and digital rights for an informal open discussion.

**We’ll talk about topics including:**
• Encryption and secure communications
• AI and the future of privacy
• Metadata and digital surveillance
• Anonymous and disposable digital identities
• Device and endpoint security
• Post-quantum security
• Censorship and digital freedom
• Emerging privacy technologies

There are **no presentations and no sales pitches** for this first meetup. The idea is simply to meet each other, exchange perspectives, and identify the privacy issues the community wants to explore in future events.
**Everyone is welcome** — cybersecurity professionals, privacy advocates, journalists, researchers, developers, founders, students, or anyone curious about protecting their digital freedom.

### About the organizer

I’m **Stephane Vaillancourt**. I’ve spent more than 30 years working in cybersecurity across government, financial institutions and technology companies, and today much of my work focuses on privacy, secure communications and the future of digital identity.
I created this community because I believe some of the most important conversations about privacy shouldn’t happen only inside companies, governments or security conferences.
They should happen openly between people.

**Come with a question, an opinion, or simply curiosity.**
See you November 3.
