**Abusing Container Registries to Build Self-Updating Go Binaries - Christian Blättler**
Container registries aren't just for Docker images. Using ORAS, we can stuff Go binaries into OCI-compliant registries and build programs that check for updates, download new versions, and replace themselves at runtime. This talk walks through the implementation details: querying registry APIs for new tags, handling the binary swap dance, and building in rollback logic when the new version inevitably breaks something. You'll see how to turn any container registry into a binary distribution system and why this approach beats rolling your own update infrastructure.

**From Go to the Browser: Parsing GoPro Metadata with WebAssembly - Chrigu Cueni**
I’ve been working on a side project called TrailTrace. The core is written in Go, where I parse GoPro video metadata (GPS, gyro, accelerometer, etc.). To make it run in the browser, the Go code is compiled to WebAssembly, so the same parsing logic works directly client-side without a backend. The frontend is a Nuxt app that visualizes rides or ski tours on a map.One of the interesting parts has been dealing with memory: One can use memory in JS freely, but WebAssembly itself is limited in memory, so I had to find ways to stream large video files efficiently without hitting that limit.

**Acceptance Testing a Terraform Provider for Incus - Fabian Mettler**
Terraform providers let us manage infrastructure by bridging Terraform Core with external APIs. But how do you make sure your provider actually works as expected? In this talk, I’ll walk through how to write acceptance tests for a Terraform provider, using the [Incus provider](https://github.com/lxc/terraform-provider-incus) as an example. [Incus](https://linuxcontainers.org/incus/introduction/) is a modern, secure, and powerful system container and virtual machine manager. You’ll see how acceptance tests spin up real Terraform runs, verify resource lifecycles, and ensure the provider stays reliable as both Terraform and Incus evolve.

The format will be talks followed by an open discussion with refreshments.

A quick whistle-stop tour through some of the Go build flags you might have missed. We’ll look at how to bundle assets, use build tags for different environments, change variables at build time, and trim down binaries for final deployments.

**7:45pm: 🗣️ Wisdom Matthew: Distributed Mutex in Go with Redlock**

Local mutexes synchronise access to data within a single process, but many real-world systems need to coordinate access to shared resources such as databases or queues. This talk examines how the Redlock algorithm, built on Redis, enables Go services to manage concurrency safely and efficiently across multiple instances.

**8:10pm: 🗣️ Weyert de Boer: OpenFeature: Feature Flags the easy way**

The CNCF project OpenFeature offers a standardised and vendor agnostic way to deal with feature flags in your project. The talk shows how can you use it in your Golang project. If there is time I would like to also talk about the OpenFeature Remote Evaluation Protocol (OFREP) which allows you to use feature flags by implementing an endpoint without needing to any extra code to support your feature flagging system.

On the intersection of Prenzlauer Allee and Saarbrücker Str. you will find a big Augustiner Biergarten sign, where you can come upstairs and find our building almost in front of you, on top of their restaurant.
Follow the path to walk around the left or right hand side of the Augustiner restaurant (both ways work), and as you come to the "back" side of this building you'll find our entrance/reception at the left corner or the building.
We'll have a security guard at reception. After signing in (we'll have the guest list on the door), you can proceed directly to the 3rd floor via the lift where the event will take place. Toilets, drinks and snacks will be available on that floor. Floors 1 and 2 are not accessible to guests.
