Exposure to talented artists' work can expand our own photographic artistry. Additionally, art museums provide environments to take creative, well-composed, candid shots of visitors, docents, and guards. The [Norton Museum of Art](https://www.norton.org/) in West Palm Beach has a permanent outdoor [sculpture garden](https://www.norton.org/visit/SculptureGarden). However, the main reason for this Meetup event is to provide indoor photo opportunities, view two photography exhibitions and other displays, and beat the heat.

Laddie John Dill is prominent in the California Light and Space Movement. His immersive multi-sensory installation is a large sandscape with a vibrant blue glow from argon-filled glass tubes that paints the gallery. Light and space converge to reflect the passage of time, cyclic and seasonal phenomena, earthly and celestial rhythms, perception, and luminosity.

This exhibition showcases 150 pieces of jewelry by 140 famous 20th and 21st century artists, including Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque, Man Ray, and Salvador Dalí. Related paintings, sculptures, works on paper, photographs, and a sound-based artwork accompany the art in miniature.

* Palm Beach County residents get in free every Saturday from May 24 to August 30.
* Bank of America cardholders (with card present) get in free this weekend.

We will meet just inside The Norton's entrance. Your host will be Judy. She'll be wearing something arty with a Nikon around her neck.

**PHOTO CHALLENGE**
Once this Meetup event ends, we will create an album on the **Photos** page. Please post up to five (5) of your best photographs from the event before 7 PM (ET) on Thursday, August 7th.

Eligible photos:

* Must be taken on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, at the Norton Museum of Art
* Must be posted before the deadline
* Must have a title
* Must NOT be sexually explicit or suggestive
* Must be more creative than simple photos of someone else's art

This album will be reviewed. The winning image will become the permanent album cover of the event. The name of the winning photographer will appear in the album title.

Come join us for an exciting day of photography and have a really great time exploring the myriad photo ops in Greenwich Village.

Greenwich Village offers a rich setting for reflection photography, blending history, diversity, and urban charm. Storefront windows and bar glass reflect the colorful life of the street, while puddles and polished car surfaces capture layered views of iconic architecture. Reflections in the windows of historic buildings, like the Stonewall Inn, create powerful visual narratives that connect past and present. During the late afternoon, the low sun enhances these reflections, turning everyday scenes into vibrant, story-filled compositions.

**Meeting Location/Event Hosts**
Your hosts will be Frank and Doug. We will meet outside of Petite Boucherie 14 Christopher St at the intersection of Christopher & Gay St. at approximately 2:00 pm. We will be wearing our TAOP NYC stickers and holding our cameras.

**ONE OF A KIND PHOTOWALK EVENT TO DOWNTOWN MIAMI…**
**PHOTOSHOOT DOCUMENTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF MIAMI’S FUTURISTIC AND ICONIC SUSPENDED BRIDGE CONNECTING MIAMI WITH MIAMI BEACH, AKA THE FOUNTAIN**

**DOWNTOWN MIAMI IS AN URBAN / METROPOLITAN CENTER THAT'S CHANGING DAILY** – The magnificent construction (IN PROGRESS NOW) of this unique bridge was designed -and it’s being built, to become **THE SIGNATURE ARCHITECTURAL ICON** for Miami. Our photowalk outing is intended to be a historic documentary (journalistic) event capturing the construction of this project... **AS IT STANDS TODAY.** Note that three of the six arches have been completed: See short video clip https://www.youtube.com/shorts/i64R1IqscL0

You're welcome to join our group and be ready to practice specifics of street, architecture, and documentary photography during this photowalk / workshop event... You'll be able to identify photo opportunities, adapt to the best (available) light + field conditions (positive and negative) and anticipate the “decisive moment” (Henri Cartier-Bresson’s) around the many changes currently happening in Downtown Miami.

We’ll meet at the History Miami Museum / Library courtyard and catch a FREE ride in the Metromover from the Government Center to the Museum Park Station in Biscayne Blvd. From there we’ll circle the construction area from various points of view, looking for the best possible composition and images. Afterwards, we’ll walk along Biscayne Blvd to capture some iconic architectural views, such as The Freedom Tower (Old Miami News), the One Thousand Museum (building designed by Zaha Hadid Architects), the Adrianne Arsht Center (portions of old Sears store corner stairway), then return to our starting point via the Metromover.

The workshop leader / instructor (Rafael) taught photography classes at all levels and has personally led many field photography outings for over 15 years in Broward and Miami-Dade counties and will be available all along this shoot for specific tips, technical consultation, historic facts, and photography information to capture better images and make this a memorable learning experience - ***This workshop is a “One-of-a-Kind” technically supported photoshoot with attention to practical learning for which there is a $10 fee.***
