Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm. Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave, Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long. We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars. Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do. If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play. Local Dungeon Masters/Games Masters will be running three or four games every Tuesday. These will be straightforward "turn up and play" games, where pre-generated characters will be provided for you - All you need to bring is your imagination! Ideal for newcomers, but more experienced players absolutely welcome! Please note that we will increase the Meetup cap upwards from 10 once we have sufficient volunteer GMs for this event. Please turn up from 6:30pm so we can arrange into groups just before 7:00pm and be ready to start rolling dice. *We can't guarantee your place at a table if you arrive after 7pm.* **NEW:** On arrival, please find one of the event hosts and let them know you are present, so we can check you in. *(And tell us your name! Some of us aren't great at remembering names/faces.)* Attendance for players will be £8.00 payable to The Ludoquist. A landmark seems to be Strength and Grace Butterfly’ LETS ALL FIND THAT and have it as a meeting point. From 22nd to 27th June, the Piazza will be turned into an open-air dance venue with free screenings, live performances, public workshops and film events taking place across the square. For the first time, the ballet school will screen full-length student classes to the public on Covent Garden’s big screen, alongside footage of performances and student choreography showcases. Visitors will also be able to take part in interactive dance activities and outdoor film screenings. Sorry.** We meet **every Tuesday** at The Ludoquist board game cafe in Croydon, from 6:30pm-10pm. We try to ensure that as many games can be played in an evening, and prioritise those that haven't been able to test their games recently, although we cannot guarantee that your game will be played in the first session you join. The **final meeting of each month is reserved for playing published games**. We use this time to catch up on games that we want to try or discuss. England World Cup Group Match verses Ghana on Tuesday 23rd June at 8pm for kick off at 9pm Venue to be announced likely to be in Twickenham or Richmond. Please sign up ASAP to encourage others to sign up, there is a deadline for signing up and based on who has signed up will depend if I choose to go ahead with the event. I expect a certain level of competency, in finding venues based on the address listed including postcode (google maps). Find the table with my name on (just ask the bar staff – my profile picture matches my face!). Arrive in good time in advance of kickoff to meet and greet attendees and introduce yourself. I am not a chair warmer. Simple introduction, answer profile or events questions as ice breakers. You are welcome to drink beers, wines (alcoholic or not), at all venues food is served you are not compelled to drink but enjoy the football. If you haven’t tried this before, Puppy Therapy is a facilitated session filled with cuddles and playtime with puppies - guaranteed to lift your spirits and melt your heart ❤️ Studies show that playing with puppies can boost levels of serotonin and dopamine - whilst also great for the puppies to socialise too! Over the evening, you’ll have plenty of chance to cuddle and play with the puppies in a safe, facilitated space - complete with toys and treats. Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches. These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome.
