🌿Why Go?
Discover the Natural Beauty & Fairytale Heritage of the Chevreuse Valley
Looking for a refreshing escape from Paris? Join Urbanature Travel for a beautiful day hike through the Chevreuse Valley, a picturesque corner of the Île-de-France region where peaceful countryside, historic estates and charming villages come together.
Starting from Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse, we'll follow a scenic circular route through woodland paths, countryside tracks and beautiful rural landscapes.
Along the way, we'll pass La Ferme de Coubertin and enjoy views of two remarkable historic estates: Château de Méridon and the magnificent Château de Breteuil.
The Château de Breteuil is especially fascinating for its connection to Charles Perrault, the celebrated French author associated with classic fairy tales such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Puss in Boots.
Perrault was a close friend of Louis de Breteuil, and the château celebrates this literary heritage through eight fairy-tale scenes displayed throughout its grounds.
We'll also discover the charming village of Choisel, where we can take a well-earned break and enjoy lunch or a coffee before continuing our hike.
Whether you love nature, photography, history or simply spending time outdoors with good company, this trip offers a wonderful opportunity to experience a quieter and more picturesque side of France.
