This is the group for you!
Not from Yorktown? No problem! We facilitate meetups all over Hampton Roads (Virginia Beach, Yorktown, Hampton, Norfolk, etc.). However, GJ mainly organizes activities in the Virginia Beach area (that side of the tunnel).
A little background:
I (Allie/Alisa) created this group in February 2018 during a turning point in my life. I realized that I am the creator of my happiness, and sometimes, achieving that happiness requires effort đȘ. It's all about your attitude and perspective! You have to wake up every day and choose to be kind, cheerful, and proactive. Network, socialize, and strive for your goals! đŻ I also needed more genuine friends and wanted a platform where I could do everything and anything (preferably not alone).
So here it is! Welcome to #BoredNevermore đ„ł.
This platform also allows us to give back to the world đ. Iâve experienced anxiety and depression and know what itâs like to feel crushingly alone. Making true friends who care and reciprocate isn't easy. This meetup was created to help ensure that no one feels alone. Iâm passionate about offering others what this group has given me. Remember, if this group isnât the right fit for youâif weâre not your vibe or âtribeââdonât give up! There are so many groups with different people. Keep trying! Your happiness and quality of life are worth it â€ïž. Everyone has their niche, but I sincerely hope you find what youâre looking for here. đ
How it works:
- Organizers will post events đïž to see who would like to join. If you sign up and canât make it, please update your RSVP!
- Want to host an event? Message GJ! Heâll happily help you create your event and assign you as the organizer. Just be ready to run the meetup in its entiretyâbe punctual, communicative, and reliable.
- This is NOT a singles group! If you meet someone and they turn out to be the love of your life, thatâs fantastic đ! But remember, our focus is on having a good time, meeting new people, and making FRIENDS (emphasis on friends). If it appears that your sole purpose is finding a partner, you may be removed from the group.
- Please do not message members without connecting with them in real life at a meetup or having some shared interest (other than messaging organizers for relevant information). The point of this group is to meet people IN REAL LIFE! Messages that make members uncomfortable may result in dismissal. This rarely happens, but itâs important to be clear!

The Bomb-iity of Errors at Vibe Park
Vibe Park, 1826 Cypress Ave., Virginia Beach, VA, USRouge Theater is putting on a hip hop version of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors at the Vibe park in VA Beach. This meetup is for checking it out on Friday May 22. The show starts at 7pm but we'll gather a little earlier. I'll post a description of where I'm at when I get there. đ Sunsets on the River: The Getdown đ¶
Hermitage Museum and Gardens, 7637 North Shore Road, Norfolk, VA, USLet's listen to some live music at Hermitage Museum and Gardens. The Getdown will be playing this night. You'll have to buy your own ticket. We'll be outside, so bring a chair or blanket. I plan to get there just before 6 and I'll post a description of where I'm at when I get there. Scheduled food trucks are Deutscher Imbiss, Flavor Savor BBQ, and Kona Ice. More info about the event can be found at the link below:

PARKING
Limited free parking is available on site. A limited number of disabled parking spots will be available on site and across from the front gate. Guests arriving after 6pm should expect to walk from neighborhood parking, where ample street parking is available.
