Baltic Sea Beach Hike from Boltenhagen to Travemünde (29 km / hard)
Détails
Moin, dear hikers! This time, after a prelude on top of the cliffs westwards of Boltenhagen, we will walk for 18 km on the nature beach of the Baltic Sea on stones, gravel and sand to the ferry port of the Priwall peninsula, where we cross over to Travemünde. For me, this is a wonderful route, but it has nothing in common with a relaxing day at the beach, as the locomotion is in parts demanding and strenuous. Therfore it's only recommended for those who are fit and have an idea of what to expect. But we will certainly find some cozy spots to relax and gaze out at the sea. Please bring everything you'll need for the day, as at least 2 liters of water, food, sun protection, etc., there are no chances along the way to stock up. However, if the weather turns bad and a rainy day is expected, I will cancel the tour in good time.
We will meet at 7:55 am at Hamburg Central Station on platform 6, section E, below the sign "E" and take the RE8 train at 8:06 am to Lübeck. After changing to another train and then a bus in Grevesmühlen, we reach our starting point in Boltenhagen at 10:13. All tickets are covered by the Deutschland-Ticket. Without a D-Ticket, the best option is to buy a Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket plus a bus ticket Grevesmühlen-Boltenhagen and a ferry ticket Priwall-Travemünde. For the return trip from Travemünde to Hamburg, we take one of the trains that run every half hour. A good estimate for our return to Hamburg is 20:25.
Please play nice and only sign up if your are 100% sure that you will join! Unreliable people (no show or late cancellation) may be excluded from future events with limited capacity. Repeat offenders will be banned from the group.
As always, this is a free event, but voluntary donations are welcome and help me cover the costs of running the group. Nobody is expected to give, only do so if you can afford it and would like to. Look out for the violet donation box toward the end of the hike.
