Happy new year 2026! As the first event of this year, we are proposing to attend the spectacle “Demain dès l'aube - Spectacle Lyrique - Victor Hugo et sa fille, Léopoldine”.

It is a musical–theatrical performance, staged by Catherine Dune, that explores the relationship between the famous French writer Victor Hugo and his daughter Léopoldine, who died tragically by drowning in 1843 at the age of 19.

It is an emotional, poetic performance that blends literature and music to portray a father’s love and sorrow, interweaving readings of Victor Hugo's poems, letters, and texts (by baryton Didier Henry portraying Hugo), with lyrical songs (by soprano Géraldine Casey portraying Léopoldine) and piano accompaniment (by Philippe Barbey-Lallia).

This event will take place at the Auditorium Henri Dutilleux, Conservatoire Paul Dukas, Paris 12e.

The Meetup event itself is free. The spectacle is also free but is first-come-first-served (you are advised to arrive 30min before the start of the spectacle to secure a seat). After the event, we may get a drink in a nearby café.
