This wine fair on the seaside promenade looks a lot of fun, and it’s a great chance to taste some of the great “vins de sable” of the Camargue, plus some other local reds, whites, rosés and muscats.
You pay just 5€ for an empty glass, and then all of your tastings are free! Last year there were 37 winemakers there, and also salt, cheese and olive oil producers.
I’ll update with a meeting point the day before. I’ll be on 07 67 04 07 99 and I’ll be wearing a bright orange t-shirt.
On Sundays there is also a wonderful market at LGM, including a wine bar / oyster stand, so let me know if you fancy that too.
Cheers, Sean
TRAVEL:
The number 606 Lio bus leaves from Odysseum at 11.40pm (11.50am at the Sud de France TGV station) and arrives at 12:20. They go back to Mtp at 2.50pm, 5.50pm, 6.50pm and 7.50pm.
The number 4 Transp’Or bus leaves Pérols Etang de l’Or at 12.10pm and 1.10pm and takes about 25 minutes to La Grande Motte. They run back to Pérols at 2.16pm, 4.16pm and 6.16pm.
So let’s meet at 1pm, and check out the wineries’ stands! I will have visited already (it’s also open on Saturday) and identified some interesting options, but of course you are free to wander around as you like and also join and leave whenever you want!
