TALK 1 - Abit: From Zero to Product with AWS Managed Services and Serverless: Exploring Abit’s Cloud Infrastructure

In this presentation, we will explore the cloud infrastructure of Abit, an innovative startup and Benefit Corporation focused on developing technology solutions for biodiversity. Abit’s platform includes a back-office, web application, and API, leverages AWS Managed Services and Serverless technologies to simplify infrastructure complexity and reduce operational overhead.
By adopting a serverless architecture, Abit has created a highly scalable and cost-efficient system that supports critical features for farmers, such as CO2 storage monitoring, field data analysis, and certification document access. Through collaboration with Eleva and AWS, the development of both the back-end and front-end was completed in just six months, enabling Abit to respond quickly to the demanding agricultural market. This serverless approach ensures that the infrastructure can efficiently handle demand spikes and multi-device usage, all while maintaining flexibility and ease of scaling through infrastructure as code.

TALK 2 - Satispay: From Monolith to Microservices, Evolving Services and Infrastructure with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

This presentation outlines the evolution of our service architecture, tracing the journey from a monolithic, on-premise setup to a distributed microservices architecture hosted on AWS. Beginning with the initial phase of a single database structure and manual naming conventions, it details the transition to microservices, adoption of AWS services like RDS, and implementation of an Event-Driven Architecture through SNS and SQS. Additionally, the presentation highlights the adoption of ECS for container management, emphasizing the benefits of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), which automates and standardizes infrastructure deployment using per-service modules and layered infrastructure-wide definitions. In the realm of Code Lifecycle Management (CI/CD), the evolution progresses from manual deployments to AWS CodeDeploy and CodePipeline for automated, optimized deployment processes, including improvements in automation and quality checks. The focus on centralizing code and release management ensures efficiency and seamless delivery across environments. This comprehensive approach accelerates development while promoting scalability, flexibility, and operational efficiency.
