🎤 About the presentations 🎤
Is Qt good for your health?
Join me for an engaging exploration of how Qt, particularly QML, contributes to the 'health' of your UI applications. Using a fun analogy with healthy lifestyle, this session delves into how common (and uncommon) QML mistakes can drain time, inflate costs, and disrupt your team’s peace of mind. Discover essential Qt features and best practices designed to avoid these pitfalls and keep your projects efficient, scalable, and stress-free. Let’s ensure your codebase stays in top shape—fit, functional, and ready to take on any challenge!
Secure and compliant: Implementing Software Updates for Qt Devices with the CRA in mind
In an era of rapidly evolving cyber threats, ensuring the security of embedded systems is no longer optional, it's critical for both compliance and safety. This talk delves into four methods for updating embedded Qt devices, analyzing how they align with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). By the end of the session, participants will understand how effective update strategies not only ensure CRA compliance but also future-proof systems against emerging threats and vulnerabilities.
How Qt Design Studio helps improve communication between designers and developers
Usually, when designers get to know Design Studio, they are both amazed and terrified. This wonderful package promises to give full control and speed in creating user interfaces ready for shipping, but it also requires designers to slightly change the way in which they think about user interfaces. Besides improving speed and quality, one of the benefits of introducing DS in a designer-developer workflow is that it becomes a common language for designers and developers to improve shared knowledge.
👥 About the Speakers 👥
Alexandra Betouni, CEO @Extenly
Alexandra is the CEO of Extenly. With over a decade of expertise in Qt development, Alexandra started by creating award-winning UI applications for BlackBerry 10 OS and medical devices. Since then, Alexandra has made significant contributions to the automotive sector, notably on Mercedes-Benz's MBUX system, and played a key role in shaping Neptune 3 UI, the reference UI of Qt Automotive Suite. In addition, Alexandra has authored Qt/QML online courses and was honored as a Qt Champion for 2024, highlighting her dedication to the Qt community.
Stefan Eichenberger, Embedded Software Engineer/Freelancer @embear
I started my career 20 years ago as an electronics technician, where I first fell in love with embedded systems. That passion led me to study electrical engineering and computer science, and I’ve been working with embedded Linux ever since. For the past four years, I’ve been freelancing, helping clients bring their Linux devices to life and optimise their BSPs.
Marco Piccolino, Qt and HMI consultant @teal.blue SB
Marco Piccolino is a training expert and HMI architect at teal.blue. He’s been developing multi-platform Qt/QML applications for mobile, embedded, and desktop since 2015. He has a strong track record as a course trainer for companies on Qt/QML, Qt Design Studio, and other developer and designer topics, both on behalf of The Qt Company and for teal.blue. He regularly presents on Qt topics at worldwide conferences, including Qt World Summit (2017, 2023), Qt DevCon (2022) and Qt Day (2016, 2017, 2019, 2020). In 2017 he was awarded the Qt Champion title for his content creation activities.
See you there!
