Berlin AWS Group Meetup - June 2023

Dear Community,

As Spring slowly finds its way towards Berlin, we have at least one steady and reliable calendar entry - this Meetup 🙂
This month we’d like to introduce a new session format - Ask Me Anything - where the group challenges the group.

The idea is to have an interactive part where we a) get to know each other better and b) discuss challenges, opinions, patterns in the group. Possible topics could be “Now that serverless is on the decline (see: Amazon Prime’s move to a monolith) what should I recommend to my CTO next?” Or “I want that Golden AWS Certification Jacket but fear people don’t take this achievement seriously!”.
Please take these as ideas and bring your own questions, bold moves, thought provoking statements. We will be using Slido.com during the session for managing the topics and feedback.

19:00 - 19:45 - Fabrizio Gattuso of Nordcloud // Serverless & Performance Computing: Impossible or Not?

We are used to thinking about serverless technologies as a way of running short and easy tasks, nowadays these old habits are not accurate anymore. Thanks to the advanced features and design paradigms offered by Lambda functions and Step Functions, serverless architectures are open to new challenges. This talk will discuss how to approach the different use cases, what is possible and how to rethink the current solutions.
