Software Engineering in chezmoi - Tom Payne
chezmoi is a popular cross-platform dotfile manager written in Go, with over 14K stars on GitHub and closing in on 200 contributors. In this talk we'll cover the software engineer aspects of the chezmoi project that enable it to support tens of thousands of users over multiple platforms with only a small team of volunteers. Key aspects will be testing, automation, documentation, and maintaining code quality. There will be a little bit of non-technical Go, quite a lot of Go project infrastructure, and a lot of engineering good practices applicable to other projects.
Evolution and architecture of the goProbe project - Lennart & Fabian
Analyzing network traffic metadata to identify and understand problems in network setups is part of a NOC engineer's standard toolbox. In this talk, we explore how Open Systems solved the problem of capturing, storing and querying Terabytes of network metadata efficiently with `goProbe` (write path) and `goQuery` (read path). We also share how the system is augmented to help an engineer acquire a truly global query view of the traffic across a fleet of >9K sensors.
Compiling CGO with Zig Lightning-Talk - John & Johannes
How you can use Zig which is not C to enable CGO which is not Go.
Go 1.24 Update Lightning-Talk - Thomas Gosteli
Go 1.24 was released on 11th of February. In this lightning talk I'll show you some (personal) highlights of new features that were added.
The format as usual will be talks followed by an open discussion with refreshments.
Hope to see you there!
