There are WAY too many groups on Meetup with limited interests and extensive rules. I am starting Day & Night NJ as a new kind of group for people in their 20s - 40s who are actual human beings with multiple interests. It is easy to lose contact with friends as we get older, start families and get involved in our careers. This group will be an opportunity for like-minded people seeking an outlet for fun, making new friends and even lifelong romantic relationships. This WILL NOT be a group for Zoom bingo and other "exciting" online events with an RSVP list of 2. I want this group to include an array of events for days and nights ranging from hikes with our dogs to rafting, day trips to the Jersey Shore, outdoor fitness, overnight meetups, camping and, of course, LOTS of happy hours and evenings of drinking and eating. We can do concerts, comedy shows and Mets games (I'll even allow the Yankees 😡). This group is for people who are employed and/or financially independent, people who are physically fit, outgoing, responsible, respectful and ALWAYS up for a fun time. We should be the kind of group that brings the fun to whatever location we enter. This is my first time creating a group and I am aware that it may become a large undertaking. That is why I will be looking for others to help find events and encourage all members to provide suggestions to keep the fun going. Since we are all adults, I will not be creating arbitrary rules. You all know how to behave and failure to do so accordingly will result in a distinct lack of future event invitations. Please be sure to include a clear photo in your profile when applying to join the group. I will begin planning events once enough people have joined and I see enough of a demand for this type of group. Be sure to tell me if you know of any events and if you are interested in running part of this group. Please join up and let's get this off the ground!! I'm really looking forward to getting to know you all and creating a new circle of contacts in my cell phone!
