## What we're about
The Denver Formula 1 Club was created in March of 2012 by Schuyler Ocheltree because F1 fans were so hard to come by in this country. The group had a slow start due to unfavorable race times and a lack of a good venue to get together and watch the races.
The current organizer, Daniel, took over the group in September of 2012, with Aymii joining him as co-organizer a few years later.
At the start of the 2013 season, the group found The Three Lions Pub along with Jon and Ian Forget through the help of Walter Penny. Our timely union finally gave the group a real venue, opening as early as 5:30 AM to serve us great drinks and food in a truly perfect setting. Unfortunately, all good things seem to come to an end, and in January 2019 the Three Lions poured its last pint and shut the doors for good.
Thankfully, we found a new venue at the Will Call in RiNo. Will Call was a great fit and the Club continued to grow. Most of our watch parties were at RiNo but we ended up with a great backup venue at The Celtic downtown.
As the 2020 season geared up it was almost as quickly shut down by the global pandemic. The race organizers were able to pick up the pieces and get back to racing in July and we ended up with a "full season". There were no watch parties in 2020 due to restaurant restrictions.
We were able to start up our watch parties again in March of 2021 and have been at The Celtic on Market ever since.
No matter the driver you like or the team you love, come down to The Celtic on appropriate Sundays no matter the hour. There will always be a group of die-hard F1 fans to watch the lights go out, Cheers!

## Details
It's EARLY, but we'll be there - I promise!!! Join us at The Celtic on Market this Sunday for the pre-race starting at 06.30am with lights out at 07.00am. There will be food and (adult) beverages available starting at 7.00am.
Because of the group size and staffing needs, we request that everyone meet the "two drink minimum." That being said, ordering food counts, so even if you're not a drinker, it shouldn't be hard to find something.
New and long-time fans of every driver/team are welcome.
## Spa-Francorchamps
### When was the track built? The original, triangle-shaped track was built in 1921, with designers Jules de Thier and Henri Langlois van Ophem using public roads between the towns of Francorchamps, Malmedy, and Stavelot to create an amazing 14.9km circuit taking in the forests and rolling hills of the beautiful Ardennes region. The track was redeveloped in 1979, and although the new circuit is only half the original's length, it’s still the longest on the current calendar at 7.004km.
### When was its first Grand Prix?
Having hosted a non-championship Grand Prix as long ago as 1924, Belgium’s iconic circuit was one of just seven to be part of Formula 1’s maiden championship in 1950. That race was won by the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio, who led home an Alfa Romeo one-two ahead of team mate Nino Farina.
### What’s the circuit like?
Spa is among Formula 1 drivers’ most loved tracks, with its mix of long straights and challenging fast corners allowing them to push their cars to the edge of their capabilities – if it’s dry, that is. The size of the track and the nature of Belgian weather means it can sometimes be raining on one part of the track and dry on another, meaning grip can vary from one corner to the next. Keep an eye on the thrilling Eau Rouge, arguably the most famous sequence of corners in the world, as the drivers flick left, right and then up the hill through Raidillon.
Special note: We have a Discord now, so if you want to join us to watch practices, sprints, or quali remotely (we'll still be at the Celtic for race events), check it out: https://discord.com/invite/wvBfaqhjpS
