Otus the Omnipotent, former hedge-wizard of High Harbor, now elevated (well, at least in his own mind) to a wizard of serious renown, has absconded with a prized magical artifact to a nearby ruined tower.

A long-abandoned stronghold of lore, the tower has seen its share of despots and madmen over the years, hoping to plumb its depths of magical items and treasure. Joining that storied list now is Master Otus himself, but an enterprising band of hobgoblins and bugbears stands in his way, joined by an equally cutthroat party of nefarious adventurers, hellbent on sowing destruction and chaos in their wake.

Glory and gold and the many treasures that undoubtedly lie within await them.... that is, if they return from as the legends call it... the Tower of Infinite Sadness.

One of the first things that I learned, ala much pain and suffering, was the value of loglines (one or two sentence snapshots of your movie idea). Not just for pitching your movie, but knowing WHAT your movie is really about and what makes it compelling.

Come join us, as we’ll kick the tires on your loglines and revise them OR create them from scratch, the goal is hopefully to have you leave with a decent logline in hand. This will be a small group workshop, 5-7 attendees total. Zoom link will be posted 30 min before class.

SIDE NOTE: One of the most common questions I get, anytime there's a discussion of one's movie ideas/loglines, is whether said ideas/loglines will be stolen and used by some conniving lurker in the shadows.
The honest truth, or at least the general truth, is that execution is still a thing and so is parallel development, which is to say that there might be 157 people out there in the world, with the same exact idea, or similar enough to make you think that it was indeed stolen... but that's very rarely the case. Still, this is more about learning how to craft solid loglines, so if you're indeed nervous about it, just come up with a few other ideas as well, and we can work on those instead.

Hullo! While we're just running one campaign series right now, I haven't forgotten ye, ye hardy original Dungeons & Dragons souls! Thus, instead of waiting around for my sorry self to run a game, I'm going to teach YOU how to run a game, ala, to assume the gauntlet of the Dungeon Master and conduct an old-school flavored Dungeons & Dragons game, via the Swords & Wizardry ruleset, which is basically zero edition D&D, just cleaned up.... which I've been using now for about 15 years.

I'll also include a PDF of the short adventure we'll be using as an example, some pre-generated characters and if you don't have it, a PDF of the Swords & Wizardry rulebook (and where to buy the hardcover if you prefer that instead).

This session is a great fit for:
\- If you've never run or played a game before\, but want to
\- Grizzled D&D vets\, you might pick up a handy trick or two
\- 5th Ed Players who want to check out what the original\, old\-school D&D vibe is all about
