We are excited to invite you to our first in person event in Istanbul for Green Software - Türkiye! This is a meetup group backed by the [Green Software Foundation](https://grnsft.org/meetupref).

Our second event in Türkiye, with the first held earlier this year in Izmir, will provide you with an **Introduction To Green and Sustainable Software Fundamentals.**
This event is suitable for everyone in the tech, and will be of most interest to software practitioners. Join us to learn more about how you can lead the change to reduce the environmental impact of software.
In this event, Volkan Abur - our local organiser for Türkiye - will talk in Turkish about the importance of sustainability and climate issues, as well as the current situation and awareness of IT companies and Software teams on those subjects.
The event will end with light refreshments and a chance to connect with other people in the tech industry who share your passion.

Ownt der **Product Owner** das Thema **Sustainability**? Nur weil **nachhaltigere Software** technisch möglich ist, wird sie nicht automatisch umgesetzt. In diesem Vortrag beleuchtet *Patrick Hypscher* die Rolle der Product Owner und ihre Beziehung zu Stakeholdern und Team-Mitgliedern.

**Digitale Produkte** existieren nicht im luftleeren Raum. Product Owner finden sich dabei oftmals in einer Sandwich-Position wieder: Umgeben von Business Ownern, Stakeholdern und Team-Mitgliedern sind sie mit vielerlei Interessen zum Thema Nachhaltigkeit konfrontiert.
Patrick wird zunächst den Organisationskontext beleuchten und Argumentationen und Strategien vorstellen, mit denen Product Owner Unterstützung für mehr Nachhaltigkeit im Produkt gewinnen können.
Im Anschluss geht der Blick in Richtung Team: Welche Wege gibt es, den Rückhalt des Produkt-Teams zu bekommen? Abschließend betrachten wir uns die Rolle und Person des Product Owners selbst: Welchen Einfluss haben der persönliche Stil und die eigenen Überzeugungen auf die Priorisierung von nachhaltigen Vorhaben.

In einer immer digitaleren Welt, die sich gleichzeitig mit den Herausforderungen des menschengemachten Klimawandels auseinandersetzen muss, sollten wir uns als Architekt:innen und Entwickler:innen unserer Verantwortung bewusst werden. IT-Systeme werden komplexer und damit auch energieintensiver. Im Idealfall arbeiten wir schon mit den Konzepten und Patterns von GreenIT, um den ökologischen Fußabdruck dieser Systeme möglichst klein zu halten. Aber wie wissen wir überhaupt, ob unsere Bemühungen zum Erfolg führen?

In diesem Vortrag stell ich das Impact Framework zum Ermitteln des ökologischen Fußabdruckes von IT-Systemen vor. Ich teile unsere Erfahrungen damit und zeige Unterschiede zur direkten Anwendung des Software Carbon Index (SCI). Dabei gehe ich auf Vorteile und Herausforderungen der Berechnungsmöglichkeiten ein und gebe euch Ideen mit, wie ihr auf Grundlage der so gewonnen Erkenntnisse weiterarbeiten könnt.

Nach dem Vortrag kennt ihr Möglichkeiten, wie ihr das Impact Framework einsetzen könnt, um gemeinsam die Welt ein kleines bisschen grüner zu machen.
