We invite VSDC-ers to join us for the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary Thanksgiving WITH the Turkeys, celebrating a cruelty-free celebration and potluck. Vegan dinner and dessert will be served (no animal products at all, e.g. meat, fish, dairy, eggs, honey).

Please bring a vegan dinner or dessert (no meat, dairy, fish or eggs) to serve eight.

$10.00 donation to benefit the animals. No charge for children under 12.

Stroll around and visit the rescued animals during the event.

VSDC Joins Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary for Thanksgiving WITH the Turkeys

Please join the Veg Society of DC Book Club discussion of “How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen” by David Brooks. This meeting will take place online, via zoom.

“How to Know a Person helps readers become more understanding and considerate …. Along the way it offers a possible remedy for a society that is riven by fragmentation, hostility, and misperception.” — USA Today

To participate read at least half the book — and RSVP at least two days before the meeting. People who RSVP yes will get the details to join the discussion (the weekend before the meeting). The details will not be posted on meetup.

The VSDC Book Club began meeting online in March 2020 (previously we met in vegetarian restaurants in DC or nearby Maryland or Virginia). We read fiction and nonfiction in alternating months, about any topic.
